Funny Family Movies From The 90′s

The '90s was a wonderful decade for funny family movies. With many great sport family films to animated movies and more, all of these movies will have your entire family laughing.

  1. "Mrs. Doubtfire" Robin William is brilliant in his portrayal of Daniel Hillard. After a bitter divorce, Hillard longs to still spend time with his kids and pretends to be Mrs. Doubtfire in order to be their babysitter. The length Hillard goes to continue the charade is beyond entertaining.
  2. "Home Alone" Macaulay Culkin is Kevin McCallister, a loveable troublemaker. Accidentally left home alone when the rest of his family goes to Paris for Christmas, Kevin enjoys his alone time a little too much—goofing off, eating ice cream and too many sweets, watching movies he knows he shouldn't. When robbers try to break into his house, Kevin sets up traps for them. This movie is nonstop laughs.
  3. "Toy Story" Toys come to life in this wonderful Disney/Pixar movie. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen bring their characters to live, Woody and Buzz Lightyear, respectively. With wit and humor that appeals to young and old alike, "Toy Story" is a definite family favorite.
  4. "The Muppet Christmas Carol" The Muppets and Christmas make for a wonderful, surprisingly delightful and funny movie. Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat are the narrators of the story and have some of the best lines in the movie including, "Light the lamp, not the rat!" And the loveable Fozzie Bear is hilarious as Fozziwig. "The Muppet Christmas Carol" is a great, fun tribute to Charles Dickens' "The Christmas Carol."
  5. "The Sandlot" Boys, baseball, friendship, The Beast—this movie has all the makings of a classical funny family film. Scotty Smalls is the new kid in the neighborhood and wants to learn how to play baseball. The boys find themselves in a large pickle and try to get out of trouble, all with hilarious results.
  6. "Angels in the Outfield"How could a movie not be hilarious with Christopher Lloyd as an angel? Throw in some baseball and a touching movie, and this movie is a grand slam!
  7. "The Iron Giant" A young boy befriends an alien. No, not "E.T." This alien is a robot, weapon. The boy, Hogarth Hughes, has to teach the Iron Giant right from wrong. Funny, action-packed, insightful, this movie is one that both parents and children will love.
  8. "The Mighty Ducks" Emilio Estevez and Joshua Jackson star in this funny hockey movie. Filled with misfit kids and funny moments, you and your family will be cheering along for the Ducks. Quack! Quack! Quack!
  9. "Aladdin" Robin Williams lends his voice to the lovable, funny genie in this classic Disney film. The genie's voices and outlandish antics make this film enjoyable for the entire family.
  10. "Father of the Bride" Steve Martin is hilarious as overprotective father George Banks. His "little" daughter Annie is getting married, much to George's dismay. Another funny yet emotional film, this movie earns the last spot in out funny family movies from the '90s list.
