Looking for a Christmas movies list to keep you entertained through out the holiday season? Christmas movies range from silly to sentimental and from family-friendly to raunchy and adults only. You'll be sure to find something to watch during the holidays on this Christmas movies list.

  1. "A Christmas Story." You'll have plenty of chances to catch "A Christmas Story" during the holidays. Considered by many to be the ultimate Christmas movie, "A Christmas Story" is about one little boy's wish for a BB gun, even though all the adults in his life (including Santa Claus) tell he's going to shoot his eye out.

  2. "Elf." This Christmas movie from 2003 stars Will Ferrell as a human who's been raised at the North Pole as an elf, then ends up in New York. It's the type of movie that's entertaining for both adults and children and while it's heartfelt, won't drown you in sentimentality.

  3. "It's Wonderful Life." The ultimate "what if" film, "It's a Wonderful Life" lets hero George Bailey see what life would be like if he was never born. Given that it's one of the most celebrated Christmas movies today, it may be surprising to know that when the film first came out, it flopped.

  4. "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation." The perfect Christmas movie for those who like their humor raunchy, Chevy Chase's classic 1980's film shows what happens when family descends on your house for the holidays, with plenty of laughs to boot.

  5. "Love Actually." Here's a Christmas movie for the romantics. One of the themes that connects all the stories in "Love Actually" together is Christmas, or more importantly, spending that important holiday with those you love the most.

  6. "The Muppet Christmas Carol." You may be sick to death of "A Christmas Carol," but the Muppet's version tops the rest in terms of entertainment value and humor. In this version, Kermit the Frog plays Bob Crachit while the role of Scrooge is played by Michael Caine.
