Knowing 10 great kids movie will help you find movies that your kids will enjoy while providing lasting memories. These children movies normally come with a G-rating for family appeal and are without without profanity, violence and sexuality that run the gamut in varying movies genre from animated to live productions.

  1. "E.T." is about a boy and his dog, but the dog is actually an alien. Kids would be mesmerized by the cute alien character who hides in a closet and will enjoy the fantasy of a bike ride across the moonlit sky. The story centers around E.T.’s wish to return home and his newfound friend Elliot is willing to do what it takes to get him home.
  2. “Charlotte Web" is a great kids movie because the storyline focuses on love and friendship and provides children with worthwhile lessons such as not to judge someone based on their looks alone. This movie is available live as well as animated.
  3. Although there have been remakes of the “Wizard of Oz” over the years, the original version created in the '30s is a must-see for kids. The most memorable quote in this movie ("I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto.") will etch itself in your kid's mine for quite sometime. The movie is built upon the plot of finding a heart, brain and courage only to discover that they were inside all along and realizing there is no place like home.
  4. “Mary Poppins” is a great movie for kids four years old and older. The movie offers timeless appeal and shows the love of family infused with music and adventure with the delightful song “A Spoonful of Sugar.”
  5. Release in 1995, “Babe” is a good kids movie. Kids would enjoy the smart barn fable that brings to light what animals thinks about and the activities they perform when there is no one around. This is a great movie for a kid who wonders how their favorite pet thinks and feels. The plot built around a pig that is under the assumption that he is not a pig but a dog and brings a sense of adventure to the farm and its owner.
  6. Released in 1973, “Robin Hood” is a timeless adventure that any kid would enjoy.Robin Hood takes riches from the affluent and passes it on to the less fortunate in Nottingham and his doing his best to win over Maid Marion.
  7. Another movie is Disney’s “The Lion King.” This story is about love, betrayal and forgiveness. Simba wants to enjoy himself without the responsibility of being a king, but circumstances are occurring that lead him into the king’s role.
  8. “Beauty and the Beast” is another movie on the list of great kids movie. This movie deserves to be on this list because it shows that outward appearance is not the most important feature of a person and love can conquer obstacles. It also brings to the forefront the relationship between opposites and the importance of true love. This movie is more of a young girl movie more so than a boy movie.
  9. All the “Harry Potter” films are great kids movies. The boy wizard is not only a beloved character, but a positive influence. The "Harry Potter" movies teach kids that love and good conquers all.
  10. “Finding Nemo” is suitable for children six years old and older. The story features Marlin, a clown fish, who sets out to find his kidnapped son, Nemo. Both Marlin and Nemo returned home a changed fish.
