The top ten crime movies of all time aren't easy to point out. There are so many cool crime movies that 100 different lists could be made, and they'd all have different entries. So, compiling a top ten crime movie list must be done with great consideration and great care. The crime movies that made this list are chock full of action, great dialogue, and they just, overall kick ass. So here they are, the top crime movies of all time.
"Die Hard" (1988). Now some people, no, most people would argue that this is an action flick. No, it is in fact a crime movie. The bad guys in the film are actually trying to steal a boat load of cash and bonds from the Nakatomi plaza. It just so happens that John McClane blows a lot of stuff up and kicks a lot of butt.
"Ronin" (1998). A mysterious package is being sold to the Russians. A group of ex military specialists is hired to retrieve said package. There's double crossing, triple crossing, even quadruple crossing going on in this film. It's one of Deniro's best flicks and one of the greatest crime movies ever.
"Heat" (1995). Showcasing one of the best shoot outs in the history of film, this crime movie belongs on everyone's list. This is the movie that all flicks made after try to emulate. If you haven't seen this one, make it a movie night. You'll be glad you did.
"The Italian Job" (2003). This movie is freaking cool. A team of expert thieves set out to catch a traitor while at the same time getting rich from a major heist. High tech gadgets, fast cars, and over the top stunts make this movie a great choice.
"The Town" (2010). This movie rocks. It chronicles the lives of four bank robbing, armor truck heisting lunatics. Business is going really well until the leader of the gang falls for the very woman they kidnap to make a getaway from a bank. Sounds good doesn't it? Well it is.
"Oceans Eleven" (2001). Eleven guys plan the casino heist of all casino heists. They plan on hitting the Bellagio, the MGM Grand, and the Mirage simultaneously. This movie has the perfect blend of cool dialogue, gadgets, and twists and turns to keep anyone interested.
"Point Break" (1991). Surfing bank robbers. What? Yes, surfing bank robbers. This movie is a thrill ride. Simple as that. Some of the action scenes are the best in the business.
"Inside Man" (2006). It's one of those crime movies you just have to watch. Explaining anything about it could potentially ruin it for those of you that haven't seen it. Just know this. It's really good.
"Takers" (2010). Twists, turns, and double crosses. What makes this movie so good? It's all in the action. This team of thieves is just so damn balsy, you can't help but like the film.
"The Thomas Crown Affair" (1999). What do you do when you're a rich and powerful CEO? Become a thief that's what. And what do you do when the cop pursuing you is super hot. Seduce her, that's what. That's the gist of this great crime caper film. Check it out.
