The "Twilight" cast members came into the movie franchise with different acting experiences, and heights of popularity. There was much speculation about who would be cast for the "Twilight" movies, and if each actor could properly bring to life their given character. Thankfully, each of them have brilliantly portrayed their character and have gained a substantial fanbase since becoming a "Twilight" cast member.
Kristen Stewart. She was born in 1990, and plays the lead role of Bella Swan in the "Twilight" movies. For portraying Bella she has won two Teen Choice Awards, an MTV Movie Award, and a People’s Choice Award. This "Twilight" cast member's first major role was in the 2002 movie "Panic Room," which also starred Jodie Foster. In 2010 she portrayed real life singer Joan Jett in the movie "The Runaways."
Taylor Lautner. Prior to becoming a "Twilight" cast member, Lautner primarily had guest roles on various television shows. The television shows include, “My Wife and Kids,” The Bernie Mac Show,” and “Summerland.” His first major movie role came in 2005 when he played Eliot Murtaugh in “Cheaper by the Dozen 2.” After becoming a “Twilight” cast member he has starred in the movies “Valentine’s Day,” and “Abduction.” In “Twilight” he portrays Jacob Black.
Robert Pattinson. This "Twilight" cast member was born on May 13, 1986 in London, England. His acting career started in 2004 with a role in the television movie "Curse of the Ring." He rose in popularity when he played Cedric Diggory in the 2005 movie "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." After he began portraying Edward Cullen in the "Twilight" movies he starred in the short movie "The Summer House." In 2011 he starred alongside Reese Witherspoon in the film "Water for Elephants."
Nikki Reed. Born in 1988, this "Twilight" cast member co-wrote and starred in the 2003 movie "Thirteen." She plays vampire Rosalie Hale, who is one of the Cullen family members. In 2006 she starred as Sadie Campbell in six episodes of the FOX television show "The O.C." In 2010 she starred in the two films, "Privileged," and "Chain Letter."
Peter Facinelli. This "Twilight" cast member has been a part of many hit television shows. He has been a series regular on, "Nurse Jackie," "Damages," "Six Feet Under," and "Fastlane." He rose to popularity in 2005 when he starred in "Can't Hardly Wait" as Mik Dexter. In the "Twilight" movies he plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen, the father figure vampire.
Ashley Greene. Born in 1987, Greene got her big break when she got cast as Alice Cullen, a vampire who can see the future in the "Twilight" movies. In 2006 she starred in six episodes of the television show "Desire" as Renata. Since becoming a "Twilight" cast member she has starred in 2011 movies "Butter," "LOL," "The Apparition," and "A Warrior's Heart.
Billy Burke. In the "Twilight" movies he plays Bella's father, Charlie Swan. Prior to becoming a "Twilight" cast member he was already a part of many major motion pictures including, "Fracture," "Feast of Love," "Ladder 49," and "Untraceable." He was on the popular television show "24" from 2003-2004. During Burke's time with "24" he starred in seven episodes as Gary Matheson.
Elizabeth Reaser. Born 1975 in Bloomfield, Michigan, she plays Esme Cullen, the mother figure vampire. Her first movie role was in the 2001 film "The Believer." In 2006 she was cast in the short lived television series "Saved." From 2007 until 2008 she had her big break when she gained a reoccurring guest role on the television show "Grey's Anatomy" as Rebecca Pope. Her character was in seventeen episodes as a Jane Doe patient who became involved with main cast member Alex.
