PS - I forgot to add that in general when one talks of the great BBC period dramas, the Pride and Prejudice that it is mentioned is the 1995 adaptation.

Since when most of this movies and miniseries are BBC? That a movie is a British production doesn't mean that it is a BBC production.

In the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, the BBC was involved only by supplying the wigs, the Pride and Prejudice adaptations available on video and produced by BBC are the 1995 and 1980 miniseries. The 2005 is a Focus (the indi company by Universal).

The 1995 Sense and Sensibility is neither by BBC, in fact BBC was not involved at all. Columbia Pictures has the credit. Once again for a BBC adaptation of Sense and Sensibility look for the 2008, 1981 and 1971 miniseries.

Jane Eyre 2006 is indeed by BBC, but it is not a movie but a miniseries (4 episodes of approximate 1 hour each).

Unfortunately, BBC was also involved in Becoming Jane, but if it is an extremely fictional biopic. For a less ficitonal one look for Miss Austen Regrets, also by BBC.

2008 Little Dorrit again is also by BBC, but again it is a miniseries (14 episodes, with a total of approximately 8 hours).
