  1. "Casablanca" (1942). This is one of the most loved American romance films of all time. The story is set during World War II, and revolves around a nightclub owner, and a married woman who were once lovers. The woman is torn between her husband, who she wants to escape to America with, and her feelings for her former lover, which are making her want to stay in Casablanca.
  2. "An Officer And A Gentleman" (1982). This popular romantic film was nominated for seven Oscars. It is the story of an aspiring Naval Officer who with constant pressure from his drill Sergeant, breaks his shell of self absorption, and finds true love with a working-class woman.
  3. "When Harry Met Sally" (1989). This is a romantic comedy. In the movie, two recently graduated University Of Chicago students become friends, and go their separate ways. After running into each other over the years, the two come to realize they are more than just friends; they are in love.
  4. "Ghost" (1990). This is a fantasy/romance movie. The story is about a husband who after being murdered in front of his beloved wife, communicates with a psychic from the other side in order to protect his wife from harm, and keep their love going strong.
  5. "Pretty Woman" (1990). This romantic/comedy Cinderella story was a big hit with romance fans. The movie follows a wealthy bachelor, and a free-spirited call-girl who after a chance meeting become acquaintances and eventually lovers.
  6.  "The English Patient" (1996). This romantic movie won nine Academy Awards. The story is set in a hospital during World War II, and revolves around an unidentifiable male patient, who was involved in a volatile love triangle that lead to betrayal of friendship and country.
  7. "Titanic" (1997). This epic romance movie is based on actual events. The story, is the personal account of a 102 year old woman, about a short love affair that she had with a stowaway on the steamship Titanic when it sank 84 years earlier.
  8. "City Of Angels" (1998). This is a fantasy/romance film; the tale of a male angel, who falls in love with a compassionate human woman. The angel makes the decision to become visible to the woman, in order to win her love, even though he knows it means becoming mortal.
  9. "What Dreams May Come" (1998). This is a fantasy/romance Oscar winning movie; It is the tale of a woman who is mourning the deaths of her children and husband. From the other side, the dead husband will go to any lengths to help his living wife come out of her depression, and move on with her life.
  10. "50 First Dates" (2004). This movie is a romantic comedy. It is the story of a one-night-stand- man who falls in love at first sight, and decides to commit. But the love of his life has short term memory loss, which means each and every day, he will have to win her love over and over.
