2007 was a fantastic year for movies, so here are the 10 best thriller movies of 2007. The Oscar winning movie was an exciting thriller by the Coen Brothers, joining a year with westerns, dramas and adventure movies, providing a thrilling movie experience for all movie goers.

  1. “No Country for Old Men” The Coen Brothers won an Academy Award for this movie, one of the best thriller movies of 2007. Josh Brolin stars as a man who comes across a group of dead men in possession of a briefcase of money. When he takes the money, a hit man, played by Javier Bardem, sets out to get it back.
  2. “Zodiac” David Fincher directs this movie, one of the best thriller movies of 2007. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Robert Graysmith, a journalist who investigated the true-life and unsolved Zodiac murders in 1968 and 1969 San Francisco. Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Brian Cox also star.
  3. “3:10 to Yuma” This remake of the 1957 western film is one of the best thriller movies of 2007. Russell Crowe plays an outlaw who is arrested for robbery and transported to Yuma, with one of his victims, played by Christian Bale, in tow.
  4. “The Bourne Ultimatum” The third movie in the Jason Bourne trilogy, this is one of the best thriller movies of 2007 Paul Greengrass returns to direct the movie as Bourne seeks vengeance for the death of his girl as well as finally putting an end to the manhunt searching for him. It won three Oscars.
  5. “Michael Clayton” George Clooney stars in this, one of the best thriller movies of 2007. The film follows an attorney stuck in the middle of a corrupt major client of his firm and the mysterious death of a fellow attorney. Tilda Swinton won an Oscar for her role in the movie.
  6. “Eastern Promises” David Cronenberg and Viggo Mortensen team up for the second time in this, one of the best thriller movies of 2007. The movie follows a midwife, played by Naomi Watts, and her relationship with a member of the Russian mafia. Mortensen was nominated for an Oscar for his role.
  7. “Gone Baby Gone” Based on the mystery novel by Dennis Lehane, this is one of the best thriller movies of 2007. Ben Affleck makes his directorial debut in this movie, starring his younger brother Casey Affleck. The movie follows the abduction of a four-year-old girl in Boston.
  8. “Breach” This true-crime story is one of the best thriller movies of 2007. The movie follows an FBI agent played by Ryan Phillippe who is investigating a fellow agent, played by Chris Cooper, who is suspected of spying on America for the Soviet Union for more than 20-years.
  9. “The Lookout” Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in this heist movie, one of the best thriller movies of 2007. Levitt plays a forme high school athlete who suffers brain damage after an auto accident. While working at a bank, some criminals take advantage of his condition to get inside information in order to rob the bank.
  10. “Before the Devil Knows You're Dead” Sidney Lumet directed this movie, one of the best thriller movies of 2007. Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke star as brothers who decide to plan a robbery of their own parent’s jewelry store when everything goes tragically wrong.
