The 10 best sudden death movies of all time are some of the scariest movies ever made. It can be shocking to an audience when a character suddenly dies on the screen. When you see it done in the 10 best sudden death movies, you are bound to remember those movies for the rest of your life.

  1. "A Nightmare On Elm Street" There were several scenes of sudden death in "A Nightmare on Elm Street." But the scene that makes this one of the 10 best sudden death movies is when Johnny Depp is lying in his bed and he suddenly becomes a blood fountain.
  2. "Pet Semetary" Stephen King writes some pretty creepy movies, but this one ranks as one of the 10 best sudden death movies of all time because of the death scene of Gage Creed (Miko Hughes). Gage is playing outside and suddenly gets hit by a truck. It is instant and it is terrifying.
  3. "The Omen" Some of the death scenes in "The Omen" were drawn out, but several of them were instant and horrifying. The most memorable death scene that makes this one of the 10 best sudden death movies is when the nanny suddenly hangs herself during Damien's (Harvey Stephens) birthday party.
  4. "The Final Destination" The names of the characters in the "Final Destination" movies become less important compared to the death scenes. In the final installment of the series titled "The Final Destination", one of the female characters gets suddenly, and violently, killed by a tire that came off a race car that was in the stadium. The horrifying part was that she was standing outside the race track stadium and no one saw the tire coming. Many of the death scenes in these movies are like that.
  5. "Friday the 13th, Part 2" In "Friday the 13th", the killing was gradual and, at times, predictable. But when we get to part 2, serial killer Jason Vorhees starts to attack victims from out of nowhere and many of the death scenes are completely unexpected.
  6. "Salt"  Without giving too much of the plot of "Salt" away, let's just say that this movie has earned a spot on the list of the 10 best sudden death movies of all time. So many people die so unexpectedly in this movie that it can be hard to keep track.
  7. "Psycho"  Anyone that says they were expecting the killing scenes in "Psycho" is exaggerating. This suspense classic is filled with sudden and unexpected death scenes.
  8. "Predator"  By the middle of "Predator" the audience is expecting people to be killed, but they do not know when is coming. The shock value of this movie is what makes it one of the 10 best sudden death movies of all time.
  9. "Gamer"  People die all throughout the movie "Gamer", but what makes it exciting is that you never know when it will happen or who it will happen to next. Even the main character Kable (Gerard Butler) looks like he could be killed at any moment several times throughout the movie.
  10. "Die Hard"  Bruce Willis made his debut as an action star in this movie, and it became one of the best adventure movies ever made. The element of surprise that Willis' character John McClane needs makes this one of the 10 best sudden death movies of all time.
