10 Best Love Scenes From Movies
There are hundreds of great movies with great love scenes but what are the 10 best love scenes from movies? Scenes that are filled with passion, unique scenery, and beautiful people. Of course our idea of what is acceptable to show has changed since the first movies aired at the turn of the 20th century. But love scenes do not have to be graphic in order to get their message across.
"Titanic" (1997). The story told of two people who meet and become lovers is set with the opulent background of the Titanic. The love scene culminates after Leonardo DiCaprio’s character draws Kate Winslet’s character nude. The couple are chased and hunted but finally find refuge in a carriage and a sweaty handprint on the carriage’s fogged up window shows us that the lovers have finally been able to release their passion.
"Risky Business" (1983). This classic '80s film has one of the best-remembered love scenes from the decade. The song Tangerine Dream plays whilst Tom Cruise and his dream girl Rebecca De Mornay take advantage of an empty Chicago El Train car. This isn’t the only love scene in the movie, but it’s the most daring and erotic.
"The Blue Lagoon" (1980).The scene in this movie cemented Brooke Sheild’s image as a sex goddess. This movie moves from love scene to love scene with luscious scenery and sun-baked bodies. The movie is a classic and has been the inspiration for a generations role-play fantasies.
"Ghost" (1990).One of the most passionate love scenes of all time, Patrick Swayze’s character makes love to Demi Moore in the unconventional setting of her pottery wheel. The key to this love scene isn’t the unconventional setting or the gorgeous actors, it's the fact that the couple are husband and wife – a rare novelty in Hollywood scenes.
"A Walk on the Moon" (1999).The movie’s iconic scene involves Diane Lane and Viggo Mortensen having steamy sex under a waterfall in a tropical location.
"Basic Instinct" (1992).Although this movie is remembered for the sexy interrogation scenes where Sharon Stone flashes her interrogator, the movie has an extremely hot love scene too. Stone is the ultimate in domineering women, who finally gets to have her way with Michael Douglas.
"Cruel Intentions" (1999). As most people are aware, this book is based on the risqué book, Dangerous Liaisons. There are several highly sexed scenes in this movie including a passionate kiss between two of the female leads. But the chemistry between Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe can’t be denied and their explosive love scene is an all time movie great.
"The Hunger" (1983). This vampire film was one of the forerunners in Vampire sexy and the student/teacher relationship between the experienced Cathering Deneuve and the novice Susan Sarandon features some memorable lesbian-erotic scenes.
"Mulholland Drive" (2001).This movie probably has enough love scenes in it to comprise a whole top ten love scene list by itself. An intense make-out scene between Naomi Watts and Laura Harring is brimming with passion and the director (David Lynch) makes you feel as though you are in the room with the girls.
"Rear Window" (1954).A good example of how our taste for what is sexy has changed, this movie’s intimate kiss between Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly made women’s hearts skip a beat when it was aired in the 50s. The movie shows that passion is more moving than graphic images.
