  1. “Death Wish 1.” The first “Death Wish” was released in 1974; the DVD was not released until 2001, though. In this movie ,Charles Bronson stars at Paul Kersey, a man who comes home one day to find his wife murdered and his daughter raped. When the authorities fail to help, he takes matters into his own hands by killing all the criminals on the streets in an attempt to find the murderer. The problem is, after a while ,he begins to enjoy it. This is obviously a good pick for the best death wish movies.
  2. “Death Wish 2.”  “Death Wish 2” again stars Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey. In this sequel, Paul Kersey has moved on to Los Angeles, but it seems he cannot get away from the violence. His housekeeper is murdered and his daughter who is in a coma is raped again. This leaves Paul Kersey literally no choice but to go back to his old ways of taking care of the bad guys on his own.
  3. “Death Wish 3.” In “Death Wish 3,” Paul Kersey has returned to New York just in time to be arrested after finding his old friend dying from a beating by a gang. The police chief who arrests him isn’t much different from Kersey when it comes to taking out the bad guys and allows Kersey to go free as long as he reports his death counts.
  4. “Death Wish 4.” “Death Wish 4” brings back Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey. In this “Death Wish,” movie Paul Kersey is once again in L.A. and dating a reporter. Suddenly, his girlfriend's daughter overdoses on drugs and sends Paul Kersey on his killing sprees once again.
  5. “Death Wish 5.” In the final installment of “Death Wish” movies, Paul Kersey has moved back to New York…again. He has tried to go back to a regular life, even proposing to his girlfriend. But, the trouble always follows him. His girlfriend's ex-husband is a gangster and she is killed by his gang. Of course, this triggers the killer in Kersey.
  6. “Death Wish.” The remake: In the 2010 version of  “Death Wish,” Sylvester Stallone directs, as well as plays, Paul Kersey. Paul Kersey is a man who takes the law into his own hands as he goes on a killing spree after his wife is murdered and the authorities refuse to help.
  7. “Cliffhanger.” “Cliffhanger” starring Sylvester Stallone was released in 1993 and is one of the best movies with a death wish. In this movie, Stallone is Gabe Walker, a man who is part of a mountain climber rescue team.
  8. “Thelma and Louise.” “Thelma and Louise,” starring Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, is a popular death wish movie about two women who hit the road to escape their regular lives. Things get really bad after Louise kills a man for attempting to rape Thelma.
  9. “The Punisher.” In “The Punisher,” Frank Castle’s (Thomas Jane) family is massacred and he is left for dead. Somehow he survives and then takes the law into his own hands when he sets out to punish those responsible for the deaths of his family.
  10. “It’s a Wonderful Life.” “It’s a Wonderful Life” is a classic movie released in 1947 and is usually shown at Christmas time. In this movie, George Bailey wishes he was never born and was then shown by an angel ho the town and its people would have been like had he, indeed, never been born.
