The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus was his last acting performance, it was out in 2009/2010. He had several other things releases also, like music videos that he directed, there is one more to come yet plus he was a photographer,painter,writer etc. There is to be some of all of that released in the future too. Regardless his last "brilliant performance" is a matter of opinion. All of his performances were brilliant. His acting in "Candy" and "Brokeback Mountain" was just as amazing as in TDK, possibly even better. No The Dark Knight was not Heath Ledgers last performance.
