10 Best 2008 Romance Movies

The 10 best 2008 romance movies are mostly romantic comedies. Not a lot of mushy romance movies were released in 2008, but romantic comedy still counts as romance, right?

  1. “Sex and the City” “Sex and the City”  stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Chris North. In the "Sex and the City" movie, the films starts with the girls living their own lives, but they eventually come together again. This is certainly one of the best romance movies of 2008.
  2. “Definitely Maybe” “Definitely Maybe” Is a romance movie from 2008 starring Ryan Reynolds as Will. When Will and his wife separate, his daughter Maya asks him how he met her mom. As he tells her the story of his three love interests, he begins to remember why they fell in love in the first place.
  3. “Jack and Jill vs. the World” “Jack and Jill vs. the World.” stars Freddy Prinze Jr. and Taryn Manning. This is a romance movie where a career-oriented man meets an outgoing, optimistic woman. He offers her a place to stay and they begin a friendship which eventually becomes a little more. Soon he discovers Jill’s evening disappearances are due to Jill having a terminal illness and not an affair.
  4. “27 Dresses” “27 Dresses” is the classic story of “always a bridesmaid.” starring Katherine Heigl as Jane. After being a bridesmaid twenty seven times, Jane doesn’t seem to have a problem being a bridesmaid. But, when her sister is going to marry Jane’s boss, Jane struggles with the decision to accept him as part of the family. Meanwhile, she unknowingly falls for a reporter who's doing a story for the paper.
  5. “Made of Honor” “Made of Honor,” starring Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan, is a one of the best romance movies from 2008. “Made of Honor” is the story of how a man is asked by his female best friend to be maid of honor at her wedding. Having recently realized he loves her, he agrees so that he can try and stop the wedding.
  6. “What Happens in Vegas” “What Happens in Vegas” stars Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz, and is definitely a good romance movie. This is the story of how two people run into each other in Vegas, spend the night partying, and wake up married. Before going to file for divorce, Jack hit’s a three million dollar jackpot. A judge orders them to try and be married for a while so they can give it a true shot.
  7. “Twilight” “Twilight” stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as Bella and Edward. When Bella moves to Forks, Washington she discovers herself drawn to the strange and mysterious Edward Cullen. Soon she discovers the supernatural reasons involved in Edward's odd behavior. Edward is also drawn to Bella, and almost immediately the two become inseparable.
  8. “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” starring Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, and Mila Kunis, is one of the best romance movies of 2008. When Peter is dumped by his television-star girlfriend, he goes to Hawaii in the hopes of getting his mind off of her. Peter's still reeling from the breakup with Sarah, but Rachel (Mila Kunis), the frivolous girl running the hotel desk, helps to change that.
  9. “The Hottie & the Nottie”  "The Hottie & the Nottie stars Paris Hilton and Christine Lakin. In this silly romance movie, Nate Cooper finds hottie, Cristabel again after many years, but she refuses to date him because she won’t leave her not-so-hot best friend, June at home alone. So Nate attempts to find June a date, but none of the guys stay. After spending some time with June, Nate starts to realize he's falling for her, and not the hottie he thought he loved for so many years.
  10. “The House Bunny” “The House Bunny” starring Anna Faris is a good romance movie from 2008. Shelley (Anna Faris) is a Playboy Bunny who's tricked into leaving the Playboy mansion. She finds a home by becoming a house mother for a failing sorority, and while teaching the girls how to be confident, she finds romance along the way.
