“Dazed and Confused.” “Dazed and Confused” starring Jason Landon, Wiley Wiggins, Rory Cochrane, Milla Jovovich and Joey Lauren Adams, is set in 1976 and for some may bring back some fun memories of the good ole days. “Dazed and Confused” explores the last day of school through the eyes of several different teenagers.
“Cheech and Chong: Up in Smoke.” “Up in Smoke” starring Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong is one of the all time good stoner movies. In this movie two pot heads go looking for weed and end up getting deported to Mexico. “Up in Smoke” is a super funny movie.
“Harold and Kumar go to White Castle.” “Harold and Kumar go to White Castle” stars John Cho and Kal Penn. This movie is definitely one of the good stoner movies out there. Harold and Kumar are feeling the urge for White Castle burgers, but find getting there a bit harder than expected.
“Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.” John Cho and Kal Penn are at it again in “Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.” The two boys are finally going to Amsterdam, where they have always wanted to go, but get arrested on the plane when their bong was mistaken for a bomb. Off to Guantanamo Bay they go, only to narrowly escape. Then they must find a way to clear their names.
“Eurotrip.” “Eurotrip” is a good stoner movie starring Scott Mechlowicz, Jacob Pitts, Michelle Trachtenberg and Travis Wester. When Scotty (Scott Mechlowichz) is brutally dumped by his girlfriend, then finds out his email buddy isn’t really a guy, but a super hot chick, he and his three friends travel to Europe to find her. During the trip they come across random characters, overcome obstacles that stand in their way and end up bonding in the long run.
“Pineapple Express.” “Pineapple Express” stars Seth Rogan and James Franco. This movie is a terrifically funny stoner movie about a guy who witnesses a cop murdering someone. So, naturally he runs back to his drug dealer’s house and the two of them end up tangled in the web spun by drug dealers and their evil plans.
“Half Baked.” “Half Baked” starring Dave Chappelle, Harland Willilams, Guillermo Diaz and Jim Breuer, is the story of a teacher who finds himself in jail and it’s up to his stoner roommates to get him out. With the bail set at 100,000 dollars, the elaborate plan of the pot heads is to sell marijuana stolen from the government.
“Friday.” “Friday” starring Ice Cube is a good stoner movie for any day of the week. In “Friday” Craig, who had been fired, finds himself in a situation when he was given weed to sell by the local dealer and instead of selling it, he smoked it. So he needs to find a way to get the money by the end of the day. While trying to get the money, he encounters many obstacles, including the neighborhood bully who seems to have it out for him.
“Hot Tub Time Machine.” “Hot Tub Time Machine” is one of the newer good stoner movies out there. “Hot Tub Time Machine” stars John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke. In this movie these four men’s lives aren’t what they expected to have at their age. So after an incident where Lou tries to kill himself, they take off to revisit old memories at the ski lodge where they used to party and find themselves actually revisiting these memories in person.
“Humboldt County.” “Humboldt County” tells the tale of a young medical student who flunks a class taught by his father, and then eventually ends up hanging out with hippies and stoners. Along the way he learns a lot of life lessons from his new found friends. A good stoner movie from 2009.
