Funniest Movies Of The 2000s
If you’re looking for a great way to spice up the afternoon, then watching some of the funniest movies of the 2000s is a great way to get some laughs while watching some excellent films. Ranging from animated family films to gross-out guy movies, the list is quite eclectic, and you’re sure to find a film that is going to meet your needs.
“Dude, Where’s My Car”-This funny film, starring Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott, is a signature stoner film, as both of the main characters are a little overly fond of drug-induced pleasures. However, this is what makes the film so immensely funny, as the two of them stumble through life.
“Meet the Parents”-This enormously funny film from the 2000s stars Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro (along with the perennially talented Blythe Danner) and tells the story of a man’s attempt to gain favor with his fiancée’s notoriously hard-to-please father. This film will definitely have you rolling in the aisle.
“Ice Age”-If you are a fan of animated films, then you definitely have to watch “Ice Age,” which is definitely one of the funniest film made in the 2000s. Featuring the comedy talents of John Leguizamo (who is unbelievably funny as Sid the Sloth), Ray Romano, and Dennis Leary, this is a great funny film that is actually perfect for any member of the family (no matter how old or young they are).
“Shaun of the Dead”-This funny film, which does an excellent job of combining the genres of horror and comedy, shows the struggles of a group of young people as they try to survive in a world that is torn apart by a plague that turns the dead in to zombies. The dark humor of this film, combined with its very powerful emotional moments, make this a great film.
“The Simpsons Movie”-This film, which is a feature-length adaptation of the enormously popular (and long-lived) animated series, follows the Simpson family as they attempt to save Springfield from being encased in a glass globe (which is, of course, due to Homer’s negligence). This film just goes to show that the comedy power of “The Simpsons” is as alive and well as ever.
“Harold and Kumar go to White Castle”-This funny film, another stoner film, follows Harold and Kumar as they attempt to go to the famous White Castle restaurant for some of their burgers. Although the main characters are certainly funny in and of themselves, the cameo appearance of Neil Patrick Harris (who plays a womanizing version of himself) really makes this one of the funniest films of the 2000s.
“The Royal Tenenbaums”-If you like your funny films with a touch of intellectualism and quirkiness, then be sure to watch this film, directed by the enormously capable Wes Anderson. With an all-star cast that includes Angelica Huston, Gene Hackman, Ben Stiller, Gwyneth Paltrow, and a host of others, this is a funny film that will not only make you laugh, but also leave you touched and thoughtful as well.
