Funniest Movies Of 2007

Monday, April 4 by Rochelle Connery

Even if you're not looking for an uplifting film, the funniest movies of 2007 are a great choice for any Friday night party with family and friends. So grab a can of Red Bull and a box of Ding Dongs and settle in for a 2007 comedy movie marathon.

  1. "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End": This funniest movie of 2007 was also the highest-grossing, as it brought in around one billion dollars. In this third "Pirates" installment, Captain Jack is back at it again, but this time he can't find his way out of wherever his former lover mystified him away to. It's up to Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom to round up a team to save his life before it's too late.
  2. "Shrek the Third": Also the third in a very popular series, "Shrek the Third" finds Shrek and Fiona settling down to life with kids. But Shrek sets off on a mission away from his pregnant wife to find an heir to his deceased father-in-law's throne after finding out being king is too difficult.
  3. "Ratatouille": It's not every day Hollywood churns out a movie about a cooking mouse. But one special French restaurant benefits in the delight of a peasant dish, ratatouille, that eventually wins over the heart of a critic and brings the ailing restaurant back on the five star list in one of the funniest movies of 2007.
  4. "Evan Almighty": Steve Carell gets a chance at finding out just how hard it is to be scorned by your neighbors in a movie about a current Noah's Ark. Morgan Freeman shines in his role as the Man Upstairs and delivers his lines just as well as he did in "Bruce Almighty."
  5. "Live Free or Die Hard": Think Bruce Willis is too old to play Mr. Die Hard? Nope. He gets by with just a few scrapes and a gunshot by the end of the movie after enlisting an arrested hacker to help save Washington D.C. from an inside job terrorist attack.
  6. "Rush Hour 3": This funniest movie of 2007 fell a little flatter than the other two movies that were also the third in a series. But Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker create havoc that's always good for a laugh, so it still makes the list.
  7. "Superbad": If you're ever wondering how not to get chicks and behave at a party when you're a total dork, watch "Superbad." It's not that the characters are so bad. Their tactics are just so half-cocked you can't help but pity them.
  8. "Alvin and the Chipmunks": Funny man Jason Lee plays the long-suffering David Seville, a suffering songwriter who makes his big break with three chipmunks. But their producer and manager, Ian Hawke, has some plans for their futures that just might lead to chipmunk burnout.
  9. "Fred Claus": Vince Vaughn – you either hate him or love him, ordinarily. But you won't know what to think after this somewhat funny yet rather dysfunctional 2007 comedy movie. Watch it at Christmas when you're sure to be in a good mood.
  10. "The Nanny Diaries": You know you'll watch this one just because Scarlet Johansson is the star. But really, watching her try to juggle her job as a nanny, her double life with her best friend and a boyfriend she's not allowed to have is downright hilarious. It's definitely one of the funniest movies of 2007.
