“Borat” – Sacha Baron Cohen stars in this mockumentary as he plays Borat, a journalist from Kazakhstan, traveling through the United State meeting real people. This is one of the funniest movies of 2006 because most of the people did not know it was not a real documentary and Cohen played off their stupidity.
“Click” – Adam Sandler stars in this high concept movie, one of the funniest movies of 2006. Sandler stars as a family man who gets a remote control that allows him to skip time mentally so he can skim over bad times. When the remote starts to work on its own, he finds he is losing everything he cares about.
“Beerfest” – The creators of “Super Troopers” return with this film, one of the funniest movies of 2006. The film follows two brothers who travel to Germany to spread their grandfather’s ashes and end up involved in an underground drinking tournament with an old family rival.
“Clerks 2” – Kevin Smith directs the sequel to his debut feature, transposing the two lead characters into their new lives after the convenience store and video store burned down. The two now work in a burger joint and experience all kinds of misadventures on a very strange day in their lives.
“Idiocracy” – Mike Judge, the director of “Office Space,” helms this movie about a military man who is put into suspended animation and wakes up in the future where he is now the smartest man in the world. In this funny movie of 2006, the president is a pro wrestler and corporations sponsor everything.
“Little Miss Sunshine” – This independent film remains one of the funniest movies of 2006. A young girl idolizes beauty pageant contestants and sets out to try to win one of her own. Her grandfather teaches her how to dance and her dysfunctional family sets out on a road trip to the pageant.
“For Your Consideration” – In one of the funniest moves of 2006, Christopher Guest creates this satire of the Hollywood award season. In this mockumentary, a horrible movie starts to get award buzz and the attention affects each cast member in a different way.
“John Tucker Must Die” – Thi high school comedy stars Jesse Metcalfe as a guy who plays different girls and never takes any of his relationships seriously. One day, three of the girls he used decide to recruit a new girl to win him over and break his heart for revenge.
“Night at the Museum” – Ben Stiller stars in this high concept comedy, one of the funniest movies of 2006. He stars as a night watchman who discovers that everything in the museum he works for comes to life when the museum shuts down.
“Talladega Nights” – This Will Ferrell movie is one of the funniest movies of 2006, playing fast and loose with the sport of NASCAR racing. Ferrell is one of the best racers in the world until a French driver shows up and turns his life upside down.
