When you are looking for a special gift for the man in your life, consider giving him a copy of one of these classic romantic comedies that men love. Cinema history is full of romantic comedies. While they're too often wrongly considered "chick flicks," many romantic comedies appeal to both sexes. These are sure to be enjoyed by almost any man.

  1. "Practical Magic" – This romantic comedy was directed by multi-talented Griffin Dunne. Based on the novel by Alice Hoffman, it stars Sandra Bullock, Aidian Quinn, and Nicole Kidman. It's a story of magic and love. It's a feel-good movie, yes, but it's a one-of-a-kind movie that has lots of universal appeal. It will keep you laughing, too!
  2. "Prelude to a Kiss" - This film was based on the play of the same name. Any man who's ever wondered what it would be like to a woman will enjoy this movie. It stars Alec Baldwin and Meg Ryan as two lovers who have a very strange happening occur on their wedding day that threatens all that they know. 
  3. "The Mirror Has Two Faces" – This movie dares to turn the stereotypes of romantic comedies and the character in them upside down and back around. It is a love story that digs deep. Barbra Streisand stars in the film and often provides an unforgettable soundtrack. 
  4. "Two of a Kind" - John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John reunited in this romantic comedy, which was filmed a few years after they made cinematic history in "Grease." In this romantic comedy, the future of all mankind rests on whether two people have unconditional, selfless love for one another. 
  5. "Waitress" - Keri Russell, former star of "Felicity", takes on the role of a down-on-her-luck waitress in this quirky romantic comedy. Adrienne Shelley's masterpiece movie will be appreciated by any man who likes stories that have the courage to stray from the formulaic romantic comedy. The supporting cast really sparkles here, too.
  6. "It's Complicated" – This is a modern classic from Nancy Meyers, who is a mastermind of the romantic comedy. Men will love this movie on many levels. The acting is stellar. The story is intricate and fun, and the characters are flawed, yet lovable. You'll just go with this joyful flick. 
  7. "The Princess Bride" - Many men have grown up loving this classic. The twists and turns delight viewers, and most men will be immersed in the story from start to finish. It may be a challenge of seeing which one of you know the film by heart more, though.
  8. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" – This is an aptly titled movie. In this feature film, the romance of a couple is challenged by the horror of its breakup. A man goes to erase his mind of his love because he can't take the pain. The unexpected twists and turns of the movie always keep you guessing. 
  9. "Groundhog Day" – Imagine if you had to live the same day over and over again. That happens in this zany, memorable comedy that will have you laughing aloud consistently throughout the movie. Its plot is creative, and its characters are just plain lovable. 
  10. "Juno" – You'd think that teenage pregnancy is nothing to laugh about. You're right. Yet, somehow this movie is a romantic comedy about a pregnant teenage girl. She's spunky, fun, courageous, and dealing with every young girl's worst nightmare. It's male characters are  fascinating as well, and it's a romantic comedy that most men can't help loving.
