The "10 Things I Hate About You" soundtrack song list is made up of alternative rock from the 90's that will lighten your mood in no time, as all romantic comedies should. "10 Things I Hate About You" is a 1999 teen comedy starring Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Heath Ledger. Not only was the movie an instant success, the soundtrack proved to be just as entertaining. The perfect soundtrack to pop in during a college party or get-together because most of the songs are easy to awkwardly dance to.

  1.  "I Want You to Want Me." This catchy song by the band Letters to Cleo is one of the most popular songs on the soundtrack and is played a couple times during the movie as one of the film's signature songs. It's a great rock song to dance to, but be aware that this song is extremely catchy. You may have the tune stuck in your head for hours to come if you hear it once.
  2. "F.N.T." Another very catchy alternative rock track from the the soundtrack, "F.N.T." is a song by the popular band Semisonic. If you enjoy Semisonic's music, you'll love this easy-going and fun tune. This is also one of the more popular songs from the soundtrack, and many people associate the song with the movie "10 Things I Hate About You" when they hear it.
  3. "Cruel to be Kind". This is the second song on the soundtrack by the band Letters to Cleo, and is as fun and colorful as "I Want You to Want Me". With a very recognizable 90's sound, "Cruel to be Kind" will put you in a nostalgic mood, reminiscing about the late 90's and thinking back to the movie "10 Things I Hate About You."
  4. "The Weakness in Me." One of the slower and more low-key songs of the soundtrack list, this sweet song by Joan Armatrading catches the sad and romantic aspects of the film perfectly. "10 Things I Hate About You" is not just a funny comedy, but also a romance, and this song compliments the romantic and sweet nature of the film.
  5. "I Know." This is one of the jazziest songs on the soundtrack to the movie, and is performed by the band Save Ferris. Play this fun song during a party and everyone will be dancing within minutes. The song also features very fast moving lyrics and funky instruments that are great for a bland evening in need of a little kick.
