Top 10 Animation Movies
The top 10 animation movies are either funny, bizarre or just plain enchanting. Most of the animation movies below will have one or more of these qualities. Below are some of the top animation movies ever made.
"Pinocchio" - Wood carver Geppetto makes a puppet and wishes upon a star that it becomes a real boy in this 1940 Disney classic animation movie. The puppet does indeed become half puppet and half boy until he proves himself worthy of joining the human race.
"Pinocchio in Outer Space" - You probably didn't know that this 1965 animation movie ever existed. Pinocchio develops some behavior problems which prompts Geppetto to turn him back into a puppet. He then meets Nurtle the Turtle. The two travel to Mars and save Earth from an evil space whale. This is definitely not Disney.
"The Secret of NIMH" - Super intelligent rats escape a laboratory and help the widowed Mrs. Frisby to protect her home and injured son from enemies. This animated movie by disgruntled former Disney employees is based on a novel by Robert C. O'Brien.
"Fritz the Cat" - 1972 was a time when the youth culture America and Europe thought they finally had revolution on their hands. 1972 was also the year bohemian sex-crazed Fritz the Cat starred in a funny satire of the era.
"The Lorax" - Dr. Seuss is a timeless genius. A man runs a thriving business creating stupid products made of trees until all the trees disappear. The Lorax is a wise creature who acts as the man's conscience. The animation movie is based on the classic Dr. Seuss book of the same name.
"The Hobbit" - Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit, accompanied by a bunch of dwarves, who seeks to recover a treasure stolen by a dragon in this 1977 animated movie version of a J.R.R. Tolkien fantasy novel. "The Hobbit" is the preface of the popular "Lord of the Rings" series of books.
"The Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie" - Bugs bunny and Yosemite Sam star in this outrageously funny feature length animation movie. It is full of classic "Looney Tunes" shorts interwoven throughout the film. Join Sam as he tries to bargain his way out of hell by killing Bugs.
"1001 Rabbit Tales" - This animated movie favorite is also called "Bugs Bunny's 3rd Movie". Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck find out that they are business competitors selling books from the same company. Then, Bugs has nothing better to do than tell stories to Yosemite Sam's son. The stories take on the form of classic "Looney Tunes" clips.
"Mighty Mouse in the Great Space Chase" - "Mighty Mouse" was a classic television series in the early 80's. Join Mighty in this feature length animated movie from 1982 as he rescues the galaxy and saves the damsel in distress from Harry the Heartless.
"Tom and Jerry: The Movie" - Tom the Cat and Jerry the Mouse normally have an antagonistic relationship featuring more slapstick violence than you could ever wish for. However, this 1992 movie is a little different. The cat and mouse both become homeless strays who end up TEAMING UP to help an abused orphan girl. The sheer political cowardice that shows in the transition from hilarious violent foes to cuddly cute animals makes this one of the top animation movies ever made.
