Roujin Z is made by the same company that did Akira and has similar themes of technology run amok. It's not as heavy and features more humor, occassionally perverted. BTW I'm a chick (if you haven't guessed already) and I enjoyed 6 out of the 10 movies listed here, including "Grave of the Fireflies." (not "Firefly) Yes, it was thoroughly depressing, but I sat through the whole damn thing and I'm quite sure I still have indoor plumbing...
