The "Watchmen" cast helped bring the legendary comics from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons to life. The movie tells the story of an alternate world in 1985 that's on the brink of nuclear war. A superhero who worked for the American government known as The Comedian is murdered with no leads to any suspects. Director Zack Snyder recreates the time period and uses flashbacks to explain how jaded these vigilantes have become with the world around them. The movie works to show a side of superheroes that are as angry, spiteful and helpless as the people they save day in and day out. The cast of "Watchmen" gives strong and compelling performances amidst the growing apocalypse of their known world.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

This talented cast member worked his magic as the Comedian, whose past is anything but funny with his despicable actions in "Watchmen". His foray into comic-based movies didn't stop after this movie as he played the military group leader Clay in "The Losers" His credits also include "P.S. I Love You", "Jonah Hex", and the TV series "Supernatural".

Carla Gugino.

This hot actress plays Sally Jupiter, the mother of Laurie Jupiter. Don't let the good looks fool, you as she's shared the stage and screen with Robert DeNiro, Brian Dennehy, and Antonio Banderas. She definitely leaves an impression with every cast she joins, like "Sin City", "Spy Kids", and "Night at the Museum".

Billy Crudup.

Dr. Manhattan of "Watchmen" comes alive with Billy Crudup as a being of immense power after a scientific accident, which comes with blue skin.  The actor is a huge plus for the cast as his resume includes "Almost Famous", "Mission: Impossible III", and "Public Enemies". The hard working actor never rests on his laurels even though he is typically low key when it comes to the promotion aspect of movies.

Malin Akerman.

Only an actress this sexy can play the daughter of Carla Gugino's Silk Spectre in "Watchmen", and male comic fans rejoiced at the casting choice. Her sweet face and personality rocks in other shows and movies like "Entourage" and "The Proposal". The future looks bright for this actress, as she has plenty on her plate like "Rock of Ages".

Jackie Earle Haley.

The character actor puts in one of the more memorable performances of the cast as the wildcard rogue Rorschach in "Watchmen". He took on the iconic horror role of Freddy Krueger recently in the remake for "A Nightmare on Elm Street". He was nominated for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Little Children" as a registered sex offender in a quiet suburb.
