Once you've grown tired of civilization, allow these jungle adventure movies for guys to sweep you into the wilderness. Whether the characters are on a rescue mission or hunting big game, they'll all have to pass nature's brutal survival tests.

  1. "Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes." Films revolving around the legendary ape-man are not rare. Regardless, in 1984, English director Hugh Hudson took his chance with the popular tale. This jungle adventure, based on a novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, received several Oscar nominations

  2. "Fitzcarraldo." Brian Sweeney Fitzgerald,  the ambitious but unlucky protagonist of this jungle adventure movie, plans to build an opera in the middle of the Peruvian jungle. However, his dream requires money–lots of money. The plot, which draws inspiration from true events, explores the struggles of the dreamer. Werner Herzog wrote and directed this 1982 film.

  3. "Tears of the Sun." In this jungle adventure, a team of Special-Ops undertakes a rescue mission in Nigeria. Bruce Willis and Monica Bellucci headed the cast of actors under the direction of Antoine Fuqua. The movie debuted in 2003.

  4. "George of the Jungle." In 1997, Sam Weisman directed this jungle adventure movie about a raised in the jungle. Does the plot sound familiar? That's because "George of the Jungle" is a parody of the "Tarzan" tales. This film adaptation spawned from a cartoon series of the same name.

  5. "Anaconda." In this 1997 movie, directed by Luis Llosa, you'll learn that sometimes it's best to just leave nature alone. The plot centers on a crazed hunter who forces a film crew to join him on a search for one of the jungle's larges predators.
