Funny Movie Lines From Action Movies
Most guys love a little humor in their movies, but every guy loves funny movie lines from action movies. They’re what make the hero more likeable and the movie more fun to watch. Not everything can be all doom and gloom. That just gets boring. Here are some of the best lines we could find in the last several years.
“Yippee-ki-yay, Mother F***er!” (“Die Hard”). Bruce Willis first uttered this funny movie line from an action movie in the first of his four outings as Det. John McClain. He said it to the villain’s bad guy, Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), a renegade German terrorist who was planning on a robbing a corporation of its money and financial holdings. The line comes as Gruber and McClain are talking via walkie-talkie about what kind of hero McClain thinks he is.
“Hasta La Vista, Baby!” (“Terminator II: Judgment Day”). The first film in the series really put Arnold Schwarzenegger on the map for fans of action movies so when it came time to do the sequel, he wanted to add a little humor to it, which is something director James Cameron had no trouble with at all. This funny movie line from an action movie comes from Schwarzenegger after he is being taught some English slang by the object of his protection, a young John Conner, so that he will blend in more with regular people.
“We're back, we're bad, you're black, I'm mad.” (“Letha Weapon II”). Mel Gibson’s psycho cop character Martin Riggs shouts this funny movie line from an action movies to the South African villains he and his partner (Danny Glover) are chasing, but it also became a great line for the movie’s promo trailer to announce to audiences that they had made a sequel to the popular first film. It’s also a nice little reference to the other famous film series Mel Gibson is known for, “Mad Max”.
“Let me get this straight: You think that your client, one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world, is secretly a vigilante who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands. And your plan is to blackmail this person? Good luck.” (“The Dark Knight”). This funny movie line from an action movie, comes from the most successful superhero movie ever made. It’s uttered by Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) to Coleman Reese (Joshua Harto) after Reese’s financial audit uncovers that Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is really Batman and is using company resources to support his crim fighting career.
“Hell, I’ll kill a man in a fair fight, or if I think he’s gonna start a fair fight, or if he bothers me, or if there’s a woman, or if I’m gettin paid; mostly only when I’m gettin paid.” (“Serenity”). Uttered by Jayne, the often-times funny and heavy-handed member of the Serenity’s crew in Joss Whedon’s movie based on the television space western, “Firefly”. The funny movie line from an action movie also makes a great one-line summary of his entire character in both the TV show and the movie; not terribly bright, but good in a fight.
“Say hello to my little friend.” (“Scarface”). Everyone who likes action movies knows this funny movie line from action movies comes from Tony Montana AKA Scarface (Al Pacino) in this Brian De Palma remake of the James Cagney classic. At this point, Montana’s mansion has been invaded by assassins who have orders to kill him. Montana has seen his guards all killed and his sister riddled with bullets. In his final act of revenge his pulls out a filly-loaded M-16 and starts shooting at everything that moves.
“Yo, she-bitch! Let's go!” (“Army of Darkness”). Upon returning from the past where he’s had a medieval adventure, Ash (Bruce Campbell) arrives back at his old job in the present day where one of the witch-demons he spent most of the movie battling has followed him back through time. As always, Ash, who seems only to be able to speak in action-movie clichés, wastes no time letting his adversary know what’s about to happen in this funny movie line from action movies.
