  1. "Alien." While some thought this film to be simply a blood-and-gore horror flick set in outer space, the majority were simply blown away by this movie. The designs and special effects, although crafted during the late 70s, still holds up extremely well. This time, however, she has a battalion of space marines to watch her back.

  3. "The Matrix." Although the sequels were a disappointment, the original simply amazed audiences worldwide. After people managed to stop talking about the incredible action sequences, they then spent the next few weeks discussing the philosophical and theological undertones of the matrix.
