10 Best Adventure Movies 2007

  1. “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” In this recent installment of the famous pirate series, Johnny Depp returns as Jack Sparrow in the ultimate quest to the end of the world and the land of the dead. This adventure movie from 2007 also stars Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, and Bill Nighy.
  2. “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” Harry returns with his friends to battle Voldemort, who is growing ever stronger in one of the best adventure movies from 2007. Harry joins a secret order of wizards and must deal with horrible new teachers at Hogwarts. The movie is a dark, but fun tale of adolescent adventure.
  3. “National Treasure: Book of Secrets” Nicolas Cage is back as Ben Gates, the globetrotting treasure seeker. In this adventure movie sequel from 2007, he journeys to uncover long-hidden mysteries involving Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.
  4. “300” This epic, violence-filled adventure movie is based on the famous graphic novel. Gerard Butler became a household name with his role as Greek warrior off to battle the Persians with 300 of his bravest men. The constant battle scenes are presented in a gripping, beautiful film format.
  5. Spider-Man 3” In this adventure movie from 2007, Tobey Maguire reprises his role as Spider-Man and finds his own worst enemy in himself. James Franco also stars, this time as a villain seeking revenge rather than a friend. Although the film is over-the-top at times, it delivers some solid action/adventure scenes.
  6. “Ocean’s Thirteen” This third installment to the popular “Ocean” series is a fun adventure caper of a movie. George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon return with the rest of the crew to Las Vegas to plot another heist, this time for payback rather than monetary gain.
  7. “The Darjeeling Limited” In this traveling adventure comedy from 2007, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Jason Schwartzman pla brothers who are reunited on a trip to India. Wes Anderson directs the film, and shows the brothers slowly bonding over crazy train rides, Indian rituals, and poisonous snakes.
  8. “Beowulf” This adventure movie from 2007 is based on old legends, but is updated for the big screen with impressive CGI effects. The film stars Anthony Hopkins and John Malkovich, as well as a memorable performance by villainess Angelina Jolie. The adventure movie features constant battles and supernatural creatures.
  9. “Transformers” Michael Bay directs this 2007 action/adventure blockbuster starring Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox. The plot is not so important as the constant action, which involves giant machines battling it out, along with plenty of car chases and explosions.
  10. “Into the Wild” In this frontier adventure movie from 2007, Emile Hirsch plays a recent college grad who ditches conformity and moves to Alaska to live off the wilderness without a dime. His adventures hunting and adapting to the great outdoors are both exciting and moving.
