The 10 best action movies 2008 range from superhero thrillers to World War II dramas. One thing's for sure, 2008 did not disappoint.

1. "Iron Man" A perfect definition of a summer blockbuster, "Iron Man" is arguably the best action movie of 2008. About a rich engineer who creates at armored suit with near-magic powers, this film is sure to keep you on the edge of the couch.
2. "The Dark Knight" Christian Bale delivers on yet again another segment of the Batman franchise. This is a 2008 classic that doesn't need any explanation – just go see it.
   
3. "Rambo" An aging, yet still undoubtedly badass Sylvester Stallone takes on the role of John Rambo in one of the year's best action movies. This time, he's been hired by a church pastor to deal some serious damage to a Burmese military regime as well as your living room's speakers.
   
4. "Cloverfield" This one might start off slow but there is no shortage of action in this end of the world action movie. Nothing breaks up a party like a pissed off monster tearing up lower Manhattan… and that's exactly what "Cloverfield" is all about.
   
5. "Incredible Hulk" A timeless classic, the "Incredible Hulk"'s 2008 rendition delivers action along with a few laughs. Edward Norton takes on the role of Bruce Banner and wreaks plenty of destruction in this summer blockbuster.
   
6. "Miracle at St. Anna" Spike Lee's World War II action movie follows a group of African American infantrymen across the Italian peninsul fighting a Nazi offensive.

8. "Wanted" Even if this movie sucked, it would be worth seeing solely because of Angelina. Fortunately, it doesn't suck.

10. "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" Many critics agree that this flick doesn't hold a candle to the original series, but it's stil Indiana Jones so you still have to watch it.
