10 Best Action Movie Quotes Of The 90′s

The 1990's was one of the best decades for action films; therefore, there is a wide range to choose from when compiling a list of the 10 best action movie quotes of the 90's. Below are movies that generated some memorable quotes.

  1. "Hasta la vista, baby."  "Terminator 2," starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, was one of the most popular movies of the 90's. T-2 also had one of the decade's  most memorable quotes with "Hasta la vista, baby." Rapper Tone Loc even used the quote in one of his songs.
  2. "Get off my plane."  Harrison Ford has starred in many action movies throughout the years. However, it is the 1997 blockbuster, "Air Force One," that featured one of the top movie quotes of the 90's, when Ford (playing the President of the United States) tells a terrorist (played by Gary Oldman)  to "get off my plane" just before shoving him out the cargo door.
  3. "Earn this." Arguably the most popular action movie of the 90's was "Saving Private Ryan." Tom Hanks and Matt Damon star in this 1998 war epic about a select group of individuals, led by Captain Miller (Hanks) who had orders to find Private Ryan (played by Damon) and bring him home, since he had already lost thre brothers in battle. After getting shot, Captain Miller uttered his last words to Private Ryan when he told him to "earn this."
  4. "No, poor people are crazy. I'm eccentric." Howard Payne, played by the late Dennis Hopper, had a plethora of memorable quotes in the movie "Speed." However, none were more clever than when he defended the fact he was crazy; therefore it is among the list of top ten movie quotes of the 90's.
  5. "I have a unique knowledge of this prison facility. I was formerly a guest here." John Mason, played by Sean Connery, was a former SAS agent who was imprisoned for stealing a microchip with government secrets – making him a one time guest at Alcatraz.
  6.  "Papa's got a brand new bag." Terrorist Castor Troy (played by Nicolas Cage and John Travolta) had some good quotes in the movie "Face Off." Worthy of a spot among the top ten quotes is when Castor Troy (after he takes Sean Archer's identity)  tells Archer's (Travolta) daughter that "Papa's got a brand new bag."
  7. "There's always a bigger fish" Those amazing Jedi Knights are able to come up with some clever quotes under the most dire circumstances. This was indeed the case in "Star Wars, Episode I – The Phantom Menace," when Qui-Gon Jinn made the statement that "there's always a bigger fish" just after a large fish had swallowed another large fish that nearly swallowed them.
  8. "You're it until you're dead or I find someone better." "Starship Troopers" was one of those movies nobody admits they like, but still end up watching six or seven times (mostly for the naked women in the shower scenes). The movie does have some good movie quotes as well. Probably the best is when Lieutenant Jean Rasczek appointed Private Johnny Rico as corporal.
  9. "Stop trying to hit me and hit me."  Another popular 90's action movie, "The Matrix" had its share of memorable quotes; such as when Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne) was sparring with Neo (Keanu Reeves) Knowing Neo was their best chance at snuffing the machine's plan to take over the human race, Morpheus' challenge made the list of top 90's action movie quotes.
  10. "I thought Christmas only came once a year." A movie quote list would not be complete without a quote from a James Bond movie. "The World is Not Enough," starring Pierce Bronson and Denise Richards, has one of the most memorable quotes of the nineties. Bond, lying in bed with the lovely Dr. Christmas Jones (Richards) said, "I thought Christmas only came once a year."
