The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Much like its namesake, the Mummy franchise refuses to stay dead, reemerging every couple of years to wow audiences with its crappy story and lame special effects. The latest installment is basically the exact same thing as the first two, only this time they’re in China. Brendan Fraser is still armed and dangerous with his cringe-inducing one-liners as well as his son, played by Luke Ford. Rachel Weisz bailed (good for her, bad for us) only to be replaced by Maria Bello and Jet Li, who continues to show that he has excellent control over his body, but extremely questionable taste in roles. Ultimately, if you like the last two movies you’ll probably be very excited for this one. You also probably have Monkeybone on DVD.
