Mexican Movies On DVD

There are literally thousands of great Mexican movies on DVD. But, these five Mexican movies are definitely must sees. These Mexican movies span from all genres of film. They all tell great stories in their own respective rights. one of these five Mexican movies on DVD will fulfill anybody's hunger for a great film to watch. Some provide a great perspective on Mexican culture, while others simply fill a man's need for gratuitous violence. Some have deep stories while others are all about the run and gun action. Check out these five Mexican movies on DVD.

  1. "Like Water For Chocolate" (1992). You looking for a good love story to pacify your lady with? Well look no further. This film touches on true love. You know the stuff that'll get her all teary eyed. Two soul mates aren't allowed to marry because of an old school Mexican tradition  that kept the oldest daughter in the house with her parents. Stricken with grief at the prospect of loosing her love, the girl realizes she has the power to control peoples emotions through her cooking. It's an artsy film. Your girl will love this Mexican movie, and you'll love the hot sex scenes.
  2. "My Family (Mi Familia)" (1995). If you're in to cultural period pieces, you'll love this one. This Mexican DVD movie chronicles the lives of three generations of an immigrant family in the United States. It explores the struggles that immigrant families have to go through to establish themselves in the U.S. It then goes further and touches on first generational struggles and differences between the older and younger  generations.
  3. "Selena"  (1997). This movie showcases the famous Mexican singer Selena's rise to fame and her untimely death. It's a very well done film. And hey, if for some reason you don't care for Selena, you'll definitely care for Jennifer Lopez who plays the title role.
  4. "Blood In, Blood Out" (1993). Ah yes, the Mexican movie version of "Goodfellas". This movie is an awesome look inside, not only Californian Mexican culture, but of Californian Mexican gang life, and prison gang life as well. It's gritty. It's real. You'll want to add this one to your personal collection.
  5. "El Mariachi" (1992). Without this movie, the Antonio Banderas vehicle "Desperado" couldn't have been made. "El Mariachi" is the first installment of a trilogy that follows the gun carrying guitarist's quest for vengeance. It shows how El Mariachi actually becomes the killer that you all love to see on the screen. This is a slept on but great Mexican movie on DVD on DVD.
