Upon graduating from high school, Norris joined the United States Air Force, where he was soon deployed to South Korea. After Chuck Norris finished his military duty in South Korea, he returned to the United States and opened a karate school in Los Angeles in 1962.

Although many celebrities trained at the karate school that Chuck Norris had opened, Steve McQueen in particular encouraged Chuck Norris to begin acting. In 1969, Chuck Norris got his first paid acting job when he made an appearance in "The Wrecking Crew" in 1972, which was a Dean Martin movie. Chuck Norris then put his martial arts skills to the test when he joined Bruce Lee in the movie "Way of the Dragon". Of course, most people probably don't remember Chuck Norris in those roles, but they surely remember him as the star of "Walker, Texas Ranger" which aired on CBS from 1993 through 2001.
Chuck Norris was married to Diane Holecheck, his high school sweetheart, from 1958 through 1988. While together, the couple give birth to Mike, Dina, and Eric. Chuck Norris remaine a single man until he married his current wife, Gena O'Kelley, in 1998. Chuck Norris and O'Kelley have twins together, Dakota and Danilee. One of Chuck Norris's biggest accomplishment is the Kick-Start Foundation, which he created with the help of President Bush. The Kick-Start Foundation is a program that teaches martial arts to high-risk children and there are over 4,000 children participating in the program any given time.
