This Mario Lopez biography will give you all the information you need to know about this dimpled, muscled TV personality. Mario Lopez is best known for his role on the hit show, “Saved by the Bell,” but much of his personal life has kept him continually in the spotlight.

Early Childhood: Mario Lopez was born on October 10, 1973 in San Diego to parents Mario Lopez Sr. and Elvira Lopez. He has a younger sister named Marissa, who is married to football player Kailee Wong. Mario attended Chula Vist High School, where he was a star on the wrestling team (a sport that would later be integrated into the plotline of “Saved by the Bell’’). Another important hobby of Mario’s was dancing. He began acting and dancing as a preteen, but didn’t become a household name until his teens.

TV Roles: Mario Lopez earned his big break in 1989 as A.C. Slater in “Saved by the Bell”. He starred as the jock of the class alongside fellow classmates played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Elizabeth Berkley, Tiffani Thiessen, Dustin Diamond, and Lark Voorhies. Mario was a member of the cast until the show’s end in 1993. He then starred in the short-lived spin off series, “Saved by the Bell: The College Years”. Mario rose back into the spotlight in 2006 when he put his dancing background to good use in “Dancing with the Stars”, scoring the runner-up position. Mario got another break when he became host of “Extra”, where he still can be seen on TV. He recently stepped out with other cast mates for a twentieth anniversary reunion of “Saved by the Bell” on the "Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon".

Relationships: Mario Lopez was engaged to model and Doritos spokeswoman, Ali Landry, in 2003. However, things went downhill when Mario was accused of cheating on his fiancé with a stripper the day before his wedding at the bachelor party. Landry ended up having the marriage annulled. During his “Dancing with the Stars” stint, Mario was linked to fellow dancer, Karina Smirnoff. In 2008, Mario met Courtney Mazza and the two had a daughter named Gia Francesca in 2010. Eva Longoria is reported to be the godmother.

Other Accomplishments: Mario Lopez has been named Hottest Bachelor by "People Magazine." He also published a biography on his life called “Mud Tacos”, which was co-written with his sister Marissa. Mario currently has two fitness books out, titled “Mario Lopez’s Knockout Fitness” and “Extra Lean”, which shows readers how to nab his famous six-pack abs and chiseled arms through diet and exercise.
