The "Avatar” actors can take pride in being involved in the highest grossing movie of all time, eclipsing director James Cameron's former movie “Titanic.” Taking in $2.7 billion, the actors involved can lay claim to being part of cinema history. These actors include action stars, newcomers and award winners, resulting in a solid cast for a great movie.
Sam Worthington is the starring “Avatar” actor as Jake Sully, a wheelchair bound military man who agrees to have his mind placed in at avatar in order to infiltrate a dangerous alien planet. Worthington also starred in the “Terminator” franchise and the remake of “Clash of the Titans.”
Zoe Saldana spent most of the movie in blue motion capture as the alien warrior, Neytiri, who ended up fighting alongside Jake Sully against the invading, destructive forces threatening to tear her world apart. Saldana also starred in the “Star Trek” reboot as Uhura.

“Avatar” actor CCH Pounder is unrecognizable in her motion captured alien character of Mo’at, the spiritual leader of the Na’vi beings. Pounder is best known for her TV work, starring on shows such as “ER,” “The Shield” and “Warehouse 13.”
Wes Studi is a Native American “Avatar” actor who portrays the clan leader. He is the husband of Mo’at and the father of Neytiri. Studi, a Cherokee actor from Oklahoma, has appeared in movies like “Dances with Wolves” and “The Last of the Mohicans.”
