JGL's acting was boring in Inception. The fight sequence was cool, but he brought nothing interesting to that character

On Shia you should probably also check out "Bobby", "New York, I love You", "The Greatest Game ever played", and "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints". In those he conveyed good performances for drama. I also thought he did fine with "Wall Street: Money never sleeps". Of course, that movie had flaws but I thought his performance was decent.

Dunno about Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Daniel Radcliffe, Colin Hanks and Michael Cera.

Sure LaBeouf is a bankable action star but his turn in Wall Street 2 has proven he doesn't have good dramatic chops.

I've only seen Lerman in four films (probably more but haven't noticed him in it) and he is a mediocre actor.

Radcliffe, he shouldn't be in any best young actor list as like Lerman, he is just decent not anything best. He has yet to prove his competence outside the Potter franchise (he wasn't moving in December Boys as well).

Now Hanks, he's too old to qualify as young. I don't want to compare him to his father, who is a larger-than-life living legend but he doesn't have the proper screen presence most good actors have.

Cera is comedic actor who can't handle drama well, just watch his emoting scene in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, very wooden and the director seemed to know that so he used a combination of score, distant shots and snow.
