Creepy First Pics From The Road

POSTED BY Max Powers | THURSDAY AUGUST 7 AT 10:45 PDT

First look pictures of the upcoming adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's The Road were just released. This is by far one of the creepiest books I have read in my entire life. You know Cormac McCarthy as the author of No Country For Old Men.  Check em out.

Hollywood is only now realizing that McCarthy is one of the best living writers, and that his books make for pretty intense cinema.  Here’s a quick synopsis. A father and his son are traveling in a post-apocalyptic world that is covered in ash.  They spend their days walking and trying to hide from roving bands marauders who have resorted to cannibalism in a world that has run out of food. But really, it’s a father son-love story.

According to USA Today, “The film, which stars Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron and 11-year-old Kodi Smit-McPhee, also was shot in Katrina-ravaged New Orleans and on Mount St. Helens in Washington state for scenes of devastation. But most of the film was shot in and around Pittsburgh.”

I’ve ALWAYS said that living in Pittsburg is basically like living in a post-apocalyptic world where people are trying to eat you, and its VERY cold.

In theatres Nov. 11. More from USA Today.
