June 19th, 2009 at 02:05 pm Big Fish! The ending of Big Fish!
June 19th, 2009 at 02:12 pm OOh, Big Fish is a good one. I'd also like to add Alan Arkin in Little Miss Sunshine, great father when he comforts his son for not getting the book deal, and a great grandpa to little Olive. Also fucking hilarious
June 19th, 2009 at 03:49 pm The Old Man from A Christmas Story. Pretty much every line should qualify him. Very cool article, by the way.
June 19th, 2009 at 04:10 pm I'm sorry, but Costner has a lifetime pass from me because of Field Of Dreams. And the noted scene gets me started, but it's the river of cars at the end when the camera pans up that put's me over the edge.
June 19th, 2009 at 04:19 pm Pretty cool article but needed some proofreading. :D Unless "TK years" is an actual length of time.
June 19th, 2009 at 04:28 pm Clark Griswalds rant in Christmas Vacation is equally as awesome....
June 20th, 2009 at 06:16 am "Field of Dreams" has that great M. Night 'twist' at the end when you realize it's about Dad, not about Shoeless Joe. Good Dad stuff. And my best memories of my Dad ever was just talking while we chucked a baseball in the back yard. I agree wholeheartedly on "A Christmas Story" - the main subplot is "the old man." When we weren't throwing a ball in the backyard my Dad was cursing the furnace and replacing blown fuses. I've always felt "It's a Wonderful Life" was a good Dad movie, especially when he realizes the value of his family. And what about "Life with Father?" C'mon, that's an absolute classic!
June 20th, 2009 at 08:48 am Whatever! No list of this kind would be complete without Todd Solondsz's "Happiness". There are a few golden father & son moments on that one.
June 20th, 2009 at 02:46 pm Arnold in True Lies was the ultimate dad. Rescuing your daughter from terrorists via the nose of a harrier is the only way to roll.
June 20th, 2009 at 05:03 pm In the movie Hook with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman. When the little girl realizes that her dad is Peter Pan.
June 21st, 2009 at 01:06 am You dont bleep "'fuck" but asshole deserves to be censored? You're being too cute. Also: Its "your", not youre. As in "you're a bunch of illiterate assholes and your mothers are all whores".
June 21st, 2009 at 06:46 pm most of Frequency, great father and son interaction. And John Q, Denzel being one of the best Dads out there
June 22nd, 2009 at 01:00 pm "I Am David" with James Caviezel...
June 22nd, 2009 at 06:02 pm John Waynes speech to his daughter in McKlintock
