$New \'Kick-Ass\' Red Band Trailer$

Those tissues aren't for the tears. The new red band trailer for Kick-Ass tackles a subject very near and dear to all teenagers. The protagonist's dedication to making regular spank bank donations leads him to a higher calling: kicking ass without the help of super powers. I thought I'd be sick of more Kick-Ass footage, but the new trailer succeeds in its attempt to get me even more amped up. I'm thinking of stretching a pair of my neighbor's pantyhose over my head and putting an end to crime. Kick-Ass Set Visit: McLovin vs. Vaughn. FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

Empire has some behind-the-scenes footage from their Kick-Ass set visit. It's equal parts corny intro, needless information, British humor, tea with Kit-Kats in it, Christopher Mintz-Plasse talking about his genitals, and an awesome on-set blow-up between director and star. That's Lyndsy Fonseca, and she's in the new international red-band trailer for Kick-Ass. The trailer also features some new footage, a good story summary, and Chloe Moretz spouting out a particularly filthy word, but the quick glimpses of Lyndsy alone are worth the key strokes for the age-gate. If you don't watch Desperate Housewives or How I Met Your Mother than you probably are not aware of Lyndsy's winning smile, but you will be soon. I'm even considering seeing Hot Tub Time Machine so I can get a side of Fonseca with my overly broad concept comedy fix.By the way, the word Chloe (Hit Girl) says is "cock." The red band trailer for Kick-Ass certainly lives up to its name by showcasing Chloe Moretz's foul-mouthed Hit Girl as she kicks every ass in sight. More specifically, she shoots a dude through his cheek, cuts off a Malcom Jamal Warner lookalike's leg, and drops the "C" bomb on a room full of thugs. Now I'm all kinds of homesick. $\'Kick-Ass\' Teaser Promises Some Serious Kickings Of Ass$

If you're having trouble deciding what to dress up as this Thanksgiving, the Kick-Ass teaser has debuted just in time with ample options. The movie follows Aaron Johnson's Kick-Ass, a DIY hero who lacks superpowers but carries two big sticks. Also glimpsed in this trailer are Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl, Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy, and McLovin as Red Mist. I'm hoping this movie is as good as everyone purports it to be. $FIRST LOOK: FOUR CLIPS FROM \'KICK-ASS\'$

CLIPS REMOVED BY REQUEST OF LIONSGATE Well, seems like someone managed to sneak a camera into Hall H at Comic-con and snag all the clips from Matthew Vaughn and Mark Millar's KICK-ASS presentation. But something tells me the filmmakers of this as-yet-unsold flick aren't gonna mind too much. Not only do they need more hype, but the above clip - and the rest, which you can see after the jump - are about as high quality as the bootleg DVDs my mom used to get me from Shanghai. So you're not gonna learn too much. To give you some perspective, the knock-offs looked like the DP replaced the camera lens with an empty Vaseline jar, and the subtitles read as if written by a schizophrenic (case in point: the Green Goblin in SPIDER-MAN was referred to as the "Gublin" and the "Green Lady.") But hey, I still got the gist, and you will too with these promising - I think - first looks. I love a good unofficial poster. They're almost always a lot cooler than the the authorized versions. And the collector in me likes the whole limited edition-ness of them, too. I know that my signed "Dwight Yoakam live at the Wiltern Theater 2007" poster will one day be worth at least $7 to someone. And I only paid $15 for it. That's called smart investing.Speaking of smart investing and nerdery, Screen Junkies is headed to Comic-Con for the first time ever this year, and it brings me great pleasure to show you the above special edition Kick-Ass poster designed exclusively for Comic-Con 2009 by artist John Romita Jr. He's the artist behind the original Kick-Ass comic book series, on which Matthew Vaughn's film is based. I once met Mr. Romita Jr. and he signed my copy of Ghost Rider, Punisher, Wolverine: Hearts of Darkness AND Cable #1. I still have both issues. I still have a lot of issues from the early '90s.
