\'The Hangover 2\' Script Is Half In The Bag

'The Hangover 2' Script Is Half In The Bag

THE HANGOVER | Reviews | Videos | Forum | News | Photos
The Hangover director Todd Phillips recently talked sequel with Entertainment Weekly without really giving away too many details. His script is reportedly half-finished (will the other half be improvised by Zach Galifianakis?) and is not set in Las Vegas. In fact, Phillips wants to distance the sequel from the plotline of the original.“What people loved about 'The Hangover' was not Las Vegas or the bachelor party but these three characters,” Phillips says. “I think you can take those characters and put them in other situations, and you don’t need the sell of Vegas and a bachelor party and all that other stuff.”In summation, you can expect a sequel to the possible Oscar contender that involves an adventure of some sort but no one has any idea what it is. Maybe they're searching for Mike Tyson's gold? I bet they're searching for Mike Tyson's gold. (via EW) More...

I enjoyed The Hangover just as much as the next guy, but Crash it is not. I kid, I kid. But seriously, a high concept comedy winning a nomination for best picture? I can see that dumb biatch holding a globe that is golden taking The Hangover up on its offer, but Oscar ain't gonna have none of that sillyiness at his ceremony. The Hollywood Foreign Press practically thrives off of fat, bearded men carrying babies in Bjorns. If you want Oscar to recognize the material, either the fat, bearded man or the baby has to be retarded, and not fully, mind you. Good luck, The Hangover. I hope you find what you're looking for. Keep in mind though, there's only one thing that makes The Hollywood Foreign Press cream harder than fat, bearded men, and that's glitzy, glamorous musicals. The cast of Nine is going to tap dance all over your ass. (via FirstShowing) More...
\'HANGOVER\' #1 AT THE BOX OFFICE FOR THE SECOND WEEKEND

'HANGOVER' #1 AT THE BOX OFFICE FOR THE SECOND WEEKEND

THE HANGOVER | Reviews | Videos | Forum | News | Photos
Zach Galifianakis is sittin' pretty once more after this weekend. As Jeffrey Tambor said to him and Justin Bartha in The Hangover, "Never leave when you're on a heater."  Well, The Hangover's heater continues, as it took top spot once more with an estimated $33.4 million.  The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 opened up at #3, disappointing for the studio, but in line with Screen Junkies readers' predictions.  Eddie Murphy's Imagine That opened with a paltry $5.7 million and the #6 spot.  Sadly, this probably means Norbit 2 has been fast tracked.  This Weekend's Top Five:1. The Hangover ($33.4 million)2. Up ($30.5 million)3. The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 ($25 million)4. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian ($9.6 million)5. Land of the Lost ($9.2 million)[Box Office Figures: Lee's Movie Info][Image: Flickr] More...

KICKASS EVERYMAN FIGHT SUITS FROM FILM

In general, when it's time to kick some ass, it's time to kick some ass.  Forget what you're wearing and get ready to rumble. This philosophy has been adopted throughout the entire history of cinema, the most recent example being seen in last weekend's #1 film, The Hangover.  Above: Mr Chow (Ken Jeong) makes a balls-out attack on Phil (Bradley Cooper).  Chow's balls are fully out in the theatrical release. But what about other scenes, guys who find themselves fighting in outfits that strike us today as either ridiculous or insanely awesome, or most likely, both? Superheroes, of course, would be cheating, because we all know they almost always look nuts cleaning up the city in their plastic nipples and oversized codpieces.  More...

'THE HANGOVER' REVIEW

THE HANGOVER | Reviews | Videos | Forum | News | Photos
“Oh my God…” That was what the woman sitting behind me in the theater kept muttering as we watched The Hangover together.  I have to admit, I had a similar reaction to this clever and raunchy comedy, albeit a silent one.  I can understand why Zach Galifianakis’s ass might elicit such a response, verbal or internal.  In a world of reimaginings and adaptations, it was refreshing to experience an original piece of material taking full advantage of its potential.  The concept is so simple it’s a wonder no one’s thought of it before, but hallelujah for the people out there like Todd Phillips who get creative when delivering big laughs. EDITOR'S NOTE: After posting what we thought was a funny riff on Mike Tyson - essentially a fake "on set journal" kept by the famed fighter during his work on The Hangover - some of our readers made it known that in late May, Tyson suffered the tragic loss of his 4-year-old daughter, Exodus.  We agree with these readers that right now is not the time to be placing a humorous spotlight on Tyson, and have removed the original post.  Screen Junkies offers our sincere condolences to Tyson and his family. 'THE HANGOVER' HAS A NEW RED BAND TRAILER

THE HANGOVER | Reviews | Videos | Forum | News | Photos
Via IGN comes the newest Red Band trailer for the Todd Phillips-directed The Hangover, starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis.  I'm hoping this movie blows up Galifianakis's career in the way that Bubble Boy and Out Cold could not.  I'm talking leading man big.  I'm talking the next, infinitely more hirsute George Clooney.  Everyone's saying this Sam Worthington fellow is a man's man.  But I'd pay to see a Skynet-manufactured android Galifianakis (the Z-800?) battling a CG Arnold any day.  You don't have to pay squat to visit these quality links.  Have a great weekend, fellow Junkies! Best Celeb Wipeouts             Meet Mindi Smith           Andy Milonakis = Weird            Best Horror Comedies        Calipari Still Got 'Splainin'    14-y.o. INTERVIEW: HOW TO SURVIVE 'THE HANGOVER'

THE HANGOVER | Reviews | Videos | Forum | News | Photos
The Hangover is a comedy about a bachelor party in Las Vegas that loses the groom. The morning after their night of debauchery, they have to reconstruct their party to locate their missing friend. The stars – Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Heather Graham – and director Todd Phillips shared their tips for making a Vegas comedy, and continued the same kind of hilarious riffing that made it into the final cut opening June 5th in theaters everywhere.Ed Helms: “I guess my character, Stu, is kind of a nervous nelly, rule follower of the group. If you haven't seen Zach Galifianakis's FunnyOrDie show, Between Two Ferns, you've been missing the internet's best talk show, period.  In the new episode, the hirsute star of the upcoming Vegas comedy The Hangover (also starring likely Green Lantern Bradley Cooper and The Office's Ed Helms) waxes idiotically while interviewing Natalie Portman, who does her best not to crack up.  She's a trooper. Watch the video after the jump, and see Mr. Galifianakis threaten to tie a Yorkshire Terrier's penis in a knot. "THE HANGOVER" TRAILER IS STILL FUNNY

THE HANGOVER | Reviews | Videos | Forum | News | Photos
Zach Galifianakis is still the funniest comedian I've ever seen live.  Ed Helms is still the funniest part about NBC's The Office.  And Bradley Cooper is still the funniest actor to make out with Michael Ian Black in Wet Hot American Summer.  All three guys star in The Hangover, the trailer for which has been out a little while, but we hadn't posted it yet.  I'm hoping this movie gives both Mike Tyson and Phil Collins' "No Jacket Required" album the comeback both parties deserve.  The fact that they're working together toward that cause is what Sting was singing about on "Synchronicity."  Or is that serendipity?  Or synergy?  Just watch the trailer after the jump and laugh.
