The Weinsteins made a pretty big deal about their upcoming TV forays a couple years back, but so far have only really been able to crank out some pretty weak fare such as the From Dusk Till Dawn series, a Scream series that I never know existed, and Bad Santa 2 (ditto).

They seem hell bent on continuing to adapt their films rather than engineer original content, according to a recent NY Times interview. They say they want serializations of Silver Linings Playbook, Sin City, and The Mist. Ok.

Silver Linings Playbook was so hugely dependent on its stars that unless Cooper and Lawrence feel like slumming it for a year or so, that might not be the best idea. Sin City would be cool, but might ambitious, given the scope of the cast, but could be done on the cheap with all its green screenery.

The Mist was done by Frank Darabont, who knows his way around TV with his Walking Dead foray, but at the end of the day, I don't know if a show about suspended condensation is really the show America needs.
