‘Robocop’ Reboot Pushed Back To 2014 To Make Way For ‘Elysium’

Vroom...VROOOOOOOOM!

Finally, a headline that makes sense. Neill Blomkamp‘s sci-fi epic Elysium has been moved from March 2013 to August 9, 2013, suggesting that Sony’s faith in the project has grown. However, for every spring, there is an autumn. In this instance, autumn would be moving the recently-derided Robocop reboot from the August 9th, 2013 spot to February 7, 2014.

(Cue sad tuba music)

After seeing the mess that was made of Total Recall, it’s no surprise that people are losing faith in the remakes of recent, not-THAT-great action films that certainly don’t need to be remade. Robocop‘s costume is somehow sillier than it was back in 1987, and that superheros that try to look badass generally look pretty ridiculous.

Maybe it will come out the same weekend as that Red Dawn remake that’s been kicking around for four years. DOUBLE FEATURE!
