Daniel Johnson is totally nuts. That is a crazy movie.
February 11th, 2009 at 08:58 pm GREAT LIST!!! so many great great movies! though my friends and i see the rhcp and metallica docs as two of the best comedies of all time...but Dig! is phenomenal. i think i'm going to watch it now. ...also, check out fans only, the belle & sebastian doc, it's pretty beautiful and amazing in it's own right...oh and new york doll is pretty heartbreaking as well.
February 11th, 2009 at 11:00 pm WHAT ABOUT "NO DIRECTION HOME" WITH BOB DYLAN????? THATS THE BEST ONE EVER
February 12th, 2009 at 05:47 am If all goes wrong, the smashing pumpkins newly released doco is a fantastic view of a really talented artist and group, trying to make sense of the modern music scene, not for everyone but brutally honest, a real credit to the band that they would let this get out, as not all roses, fantastic music as well.
February 12th, 2009 at 05:58 am The Filth and the Fury?
February 12th, 2009 at 06:52 am What about "If all goes Wrong"?
February 12th, 2009 at 06:53 am Jonathan Demme is not dead. Your thinking of his nephew Ted Demme
February 12th, 2009 at 07:17 am The Who The Kids Are Alright
February 12th, 2009 at 07:16 am No Heavy Metal Parking Lot?
February 12th, 2009 at 09:13 am we jam econo about the minutemen
February 12th, 2009 at 09:26 am Hype! is really good, Some Kind of Monster SUUUUUUUUUUCKS, Cliff 'Em all is waaaaay better metallica, though its not really a doc. I just hate some kind of monster
February 12th, 2009 at 09:42 am Seriously, Jonathon Demme is not dead. He made "Heart of Gold" about Neil Young just a couple years ago.
February 12th, 2009 at 11:12 am Todd Phillip's documentary Hated about GG Allin should definitely be on this list.
February 12th, 2009 at 11:48 am What about Get Thrashed, or Metal A Headbanger's Journey?
February 12th, 2009 at 01:20 pm No loudQUIETloud? Shame, shame. Pixies need to be somewhere in there.
February 12th, 2009 at 01:25 pm I agree No Direction Home definitely needs to be on this list.
February 12th, 2009 at 01:39 pm gg allin is rad, loudQuietloud is good, but it came too late in the game for the pixies, would been much better if they filmed it in the eighties
February 12th, 2009 at 02:02 pm jonas brothers in 3D!
February 12th, 2009 at 02:25 pm Thank god there wasnt any fucking rap films
February 12th, 2009 at 03:39 pm the fact you put decline of the western civilization part 2 and not part one makes this list worth nothing.
February 12th, 2009 at 05:01 pm Cocksucker Blues should be on this list. Rolling Stones.
February 12th, 2009 at 07:02 pm No 'Kids Are Alright'? Whats wrong with you?
February 12th, 2009 at 07:53 pm Shame on you for no "Decline of Western Civilization, Part 2". I must also mention a lack of the Jane's Addiction doc "3 Days". Oh, and "The Kids Are Alright" should have been #1. Damn your eyes, ScreenJunkies!
February 12th, 2009 at 10:33 pm the last waltz is awesome, did you know that neil young had a huge blob of coke on his nose during the final song? they had to blot it in post. Also, the 'green' room for the show had thousands of dollars worth of coke, noses from masks decorated on the walls, and a looping sound of sniffing. the 70's ruled
February 13th, 2009 at 10:28 am The Year Punk Broke... Sonic Youth on tour with Nirvana opening for them.
February 13th, 2009 at 10:43 am
NICE.
February 13th, 2009 at 02:34 pm 1. Belle & Sebastian does not "rock", hence no-rockumentary. If you'll excuse me I have to go "Walk The Cow."
February 13th, 2009 at 07:44 pm I agree with anonymous - "Hated: G.G. Allin and the Murder Junkies" was awesome. Without that, this list sucks!
February 15th, 2009 at 08:06 am Wesley Willis: The Daddy of Rock & Roll
February 16th, 2009 at 02:09 pm GG Allin: I'm a crazy asshole who eats poops and rapes my audience
February 18th, 2009 at 07:26 am Notably missing from your list: Bittersweet Motel, which is a documentary about Phish, a band that has experienced widespread popularity among fans but little recognition from the press. That trend apparently continues here...
February 18th, 2009 at 09:54 am What about This Is Spinal Tap?
June 27th, 2009 at 06:51 pm What about Grant Gee's Joy Division? This list needs revision.
November 5th, 2009 at 06:41 pm great! one about tribute bands i saw in brazil was also good
