Zooey Deschanel is an awkward young professional on “New Girl.” She plays Jess (assumedly the titular character), a recently single chick who moves into an apartment with three dudes. She then proceeds to do awkward things and be generally really quirky in an almost-annoying but also somewhat endearing way. Takes a lot of skill to pull that off.
