A lot of food gets wasted on film and commercial sets but that shouldn't be a problem on Ron Howard's upcoming comedy. Kevin James is expected to sign-on to play opposite Vince Vaughn in the untitled comedy about infidelity. In the film, Vaughn will play a man who finds out his best friend's wife is cheating and struggles with what to do with that knowledge. James, who appears next in Grown Ups, will play the betrayed friend who struggles with a pair of Docker's.

It's good to see Ron Howard returning to comedy. I'm optimistic that these three will turn out genuinely touching, funny moments with a lot of heart. An enlarged heart, if you will. (THR)

Vince Vaughn and Ron Howard are Looking to Break Some Hearts

Age is a cruel bitch. Anyway, Vince Vaughn and Ron Howard have decided to team up for a movie written by Wall Street 2 scribe Allan Loeb. The story follows a man who learns that his best friend's wife is cheating and must then navigate treacherous waters to decide what do with that knowledge. I hope it takes place in the middle of the Pacific, and Vaughn's character befriends an abrasive but quick-witted shark who's only looking out for his pal's best interests. Treacherous waters, indeed...

Ron Howard hasn't directed a comedy since Edtv, and some would argue (me) Angels & Demons offered more laughs than that movie. If this new project with Vaughn echoes the tone of Parenthood I think we could all be in for a real treat. Also, I'd like to make a casting suggestion for the cheating husband:

AHHH, LITTLE CLINT HOWARD!!! I take back what I said about age!

Mitch Hurwitz Weighs In On 'Arrested Development' Movie

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT | Reviews | Videos | Forum | News | Photos

Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz has been silent thus far in the back-and-forth speculation on whether or not the cult favorite will find its way to the big screen. Until now.

While appearing on a panel alongside series executive producer and Hollywood's beloved ginger Ron Howard, he was asked about the status of the film. Hurwitz confirmed that it is happening and he will be directing. When pressed for more details, Hurwitz only commented that the script will feature "a heavy jail presence." So there you have it. Once again, not much substantial info. The stars haven't been contacted and the project doesn't appear on any production schedules. So let's reclassify this one from a "Maybe" to a "Strongish Maybe Kinda". Don't let this one linger in Production Limbo too long. It very well may be our last chance to see Scott Baio on the big screen. (The Playlist)
