Jay Leno's Grandiose Delusions Continue in New Promo

NBC premiered the first promo for Jay Leno's return to The Tonight Show during last night's Olympics broadcast. The results were not so good. Actually it's not entirely fair to call this a new promo. It's literally the same footage he used for his The Jay Leno Show promo with the Beatle's "Get Back" over-dubbed. Talk about polishing a turd. Get back to where you once belonged? I'll tell you where you can get back to, Leno. You can get back to, um, elsewhere. (Burned him.)

Of course, Kevin Eubanks won't come along for the ride but for now we can seek solace in knowing that someone out there will ask the hard-hitting questions. Like, "Hey Vince Vaughn. What is your favorite sandwich?" For the record, the answer is all of them. Vince likes all the sandwiches.

NBC Honors Black History Month Via Its Stomach

NBC must rrrreeeaaaallllllyyyyyy love the legal process. Not only did they just pay out $44 million to Conan O'Brien,  but they also were just sued for stealing the font used in their logo redesign. Now their cafeteria is caught with its racist pants down. Or up. I don't know how racists wear their pants.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots drummer Questlove tweeted the above picture today along with the comment "Hmm, HR?"

An NBC publicist replied, "The sign in the NBCU cafeteria has been removed. We apologize for anyone who was offended by it."

This of course has rightfully drawn a lot of offense. Many black people were bewildered when they laid eyes upon the controversial menu. In fact, most were overheard exclaiming, "$7.50?!!" (THR)

Conan Gets His 'Justice' at NBC

Conan is back at NBC. Kinda sorta. Less than a week after his last appearance as host of The Tonight Show, the network has picked up a pilot from his Conaco production company. The show, previously known as Justice, is an hour-long drama that revolves around a Supreme Court Justice who leaves Capitol Hill to start his own law practice. There's no word whether or not a big-chinned rival judge was the reason the protagonist jumped ship.

I'm holding out hope that this goes to series and Masturbating Bear guest stars in an episode that centers around a public indecency case. That's the least you can do for us, NBC. (Variety)

J.J. Abrams Directing Pilot 'Undercovers'

J.J. Abrams is getting back in the saddle to direct the pilot for his television project Undercovers over at NBC. Not since the jaw dropping pilot for LOST has Abrams taken a seat behind a camera that's in front of a set constructed specifically for a small screen airing.

The top brass is being very ellusive on the plot of the show, only saying that it's a mix between Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity. Hmmmm, two spy movies? When you take two things that are pretty much the same thing it's not really a mix. That's like blending katsup and marinara, cutting it with tap water and calling it reimagined buttered noodles topping. Or in my household: dinner.

ZACK MORRIS ON 'LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON'

LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON | Reviews | Videos | Forum | News | Photos

Kudos to you, Mark Paul Gosselaar, for being able to make fun of yourself.  Kudos, to you, sir!  Last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Mark Paul Gosselaar, currently starring in "Raising the Bar" on TNT, showed up in full "Saved By the Bell" Zach Morris regalia, and did a classic Zach Morris direct-address to camera.  It was kind of uncanny how much he can still pull off Bayside High's coolest student ever.  The phone you could choke a horse with played no small part in selling it.  Say what you want about Jimmy Fallon as a host.  He's still finding his legs.  But you can't deny he and his team of writers - including head staffer A.D. Miles from "The State" - are coming up with some material that rivals Conan's Late Night crew.

Re-cap:
This episode begins in the same way that all Southland episodes to date have begun, which is to say that it begins in the middle of what’s going on.  Officer Sherman is lying in bed with his arm wrapped around a woman.  Our narrator cuts in to inform us that it is a violation of policy for an officer to get involved with a victim.  Sherman knows this, but does it anyway.  We learn quickly how the girl ended up being a victim, and gradually how she ended up in Sherman’s bed...
