The second trailer for Jerry Bruckheimer's sand-in-the-crevasse epic Prince of Persia has dirt-tornadoed its way to them Internets to show off the film's story and awkward attempts at sexual tension. It's pretty much the same trailer as before but this time the events are shown in a slightly different order. I'm on to you, Jerry.

The plot sounds very similar to Lord of the Rings. An appointed protector must transport a magical item to certain location without it falling into the clutches of evil. Though Frodo's flirtations with Samwise were a lot less wooden than Jake Gyllenhaal's with Gemma Arterton.

Moon director Duncan Jones will be following up his debut with another sci-fi entry. Source Code stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a soldier investigating a terrorist bombing of a train. Using an experimental technology, Gyllenhaal enters the body of an unknown commuter and must relive the bombing over and over again until he finds who is responsible for the act (Could it be him? What are the twist-ending chances??). Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan have just joined the time-travel mystery.

Farmiga will play the communications officer controlling Gyllenhaal and Monaghan will play a love interest he encounters while travelling. Time to come clean a little bit. I originally planned to group the above pictures of the actresses together in the hopes that one thing may lead to another and that they would start to kiss a little bit. Then that baby had to show up and spoil my genius plot. I'll get you for this baby! Just as soon as I can pull my pants back up. (THR)

Last night on the Spike 2009 Video Game Awards, Jake Gyllenhaal stepped out on stage to introduce a one minute sneak peak of his new movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. If you've seen the first trailer, the footage isn't all that exciting. It seems like it was intended for an audience that wouldn't watch or attend the Spike 2009 Video Game Awards because that audience would have most likely seen the first trailer, and they wouldn't appreciate Jake showcasing old footage like it's something to sh*t your pants over. Just saying.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time blows into theaters May 28th, 2010. Don't let any of it get into your butt crack. And check out the sneak peek below.

Jake Gyllenhaal jumps from crumbling ledge to overhang to gargoyle in this action-packed trailer for Prince of Persia. I haven't seen so much sand and fire whipping through the air since since my last drunken visit to the coast. Mike Newell of Harry Potter fame directs and Jerry Bruckheimer of facial hair infamy produces, guaranteeing a magically grand Disney adventure. Hopefully we'll see a higher quality version in the very near future, but for now this will have to do. I only hope they do something about Gemma Arterton's voiceover. It sounds like she's narrating a video game, and not the trailer for a video game adaptation.
