Another week gone by, another meth addled story of lies and close scrapes for our two favorite kingpins. “Hey Captain America”, says a bum to Jesse as he is walking into a convenience store to meet up with Walt. Walt and Jesse decide they are going to have to put cooking on hold for a little bit while Walt’s family gets less suspicious. So Walt tries to be sweet and get on Skyler’s good side. He cooks them breakfast but Skyler is skeptical, as usual. Next, Walter reps Boz Skaggs as one of the best musicians of all time, maybe he’s been getting high on his own supply. While cleaning up, Walt attempts to cover up the his second cell phone. Skyler, though, is unimpressed and storms out to Walt’s dismay. Meanwhile Jesse’s parents have wised up to his drug trafficking ways. So they decide to evict him from his house which they have the property rights to. Jesse’s got 72 hours to get out.
Well, chaiwallahs, the submissions have been collected and the judges have spoken. The winner of Slumdog Millionaire on DVD or Blu-Ray is the user known as Novakane, whose comment, "The Corn? I ate it. Why?" tickled enough people's funny bones to take the prize.
Panthers are going to State in ’08! What a magical week it was in Dillon, Texas, for fans of the Blue and Yellow. Emotions ran high because of twists around every bend. Grandma Saracen took a spill out of her car as she was backing out of the driveway and it became clear no amount of personal supervision would protect her from herself. The Garrity family finally broke down after hanging by a thread for so long, and it may or may not recover. That wasn’t the only thing on Buddy’s plate, as the boosters had to contend with a redistricting plan that might dismantle the powerhouse football team in the name of a better education for the children. Landry and the Collettes finally made amends, and it seemed as though the seeds for a Landry-Tyra reunion tour were planted. JD and his father, Joe, went through their growing pains, as JD came into his own and started making decisions for himself. This week was a return to form for Friday Night Lights as a TV show and for the Panthers as a football team, as they survived to fight another day.
With the deaths of loved ones behind them, the Connor crew split up. Sarah and John take refuge with an old friend, while Derek and Cameron take a moment away from each other’s throats and point their guns in the same direction. Del Monte Sarah packs some bags and thinks back to when John was a child. His favorite stories were his mother’s jungle stories, particularly the tale of El Viejo Del Monte: Old Man of the Forest. Del Monte was a hunter condemned to the jungle for all eternity. As his story goes he would kill every animal he encountered but not to feed on their meat, or warm himself with their furs. Instead, he would leave his prey to rot. His lust for blood was his mark, and each carcass he left behind was a lesson to those who crosses it explaining what God had turned Del Monte into: half man, half animal. Some considered him a protector for he preyed upon predators. It was his curse to be vigilant forever.
Empire Magazine recently revealed that Bond girl Gemma Arterton will be starring as the demi-goddess Io in Louis Leterrier's remake of Clash of the Titans. According to Arterton in a follow-up interview, “The script is very different [from the Harry Hamlin original]. Obviously the story is the story, but it’s much more about Perseus’ mission, and how he deals with being the son of Zeus, and things like that, so it feels a little more about him, and about the issues around that.” Hrmm. I just want to see more pics of Gemma. That's why I posted some after the jump. According to Variety, Emma Stone of Superbad and (less so) House Bunny fame is looking to get a little naughty in her next role. The comedy entitled "Easy A" is a modern, high school-set retelling of Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter." Stone will play a student who sees her life paralleling Hawthorne's heroine Hester Prynne after she pretends to be the school slut in hopes she'll benefit from the notion she's promiscuous. I've never known anyone who hasn't benefited from loose sexual morals, especially in high school, but something tells me this movie is going to stress the counter-point. I guess I can't really blame the studio execs for choosing the high-ground, even though a herpes epidemic would be one hell of a marketing campaign. Now that's exposure money can't buy! (Rimshot!) Check out some photos of Emma after the jump.
Saw the 3-D trailer for this play in front of Monsters vs. Aliens this weekend. Even without the 3-D, Up looks multi-dimensional. See, that's what I'd be saying if I were brainstorming in a marketing meeting. But since I'm sitting at home in my boxers typing this, I'm just going to say that I can't wait for Up in the same way I can't wait to take a shower. And I reek of last night's indiscretions. You don't have to wait until I shower to watch the ALL NEW CLIPS of Up. After the jump!
In a conversation with MTV about his upcoming Year One, writer-director Harold Ramis let loose some ectoplasmic bites of information on what we can expect from the new Ghostbusters movie. According to Ramis:"[Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and all the other core members from the original] are going to be in it in different kinds of roles," Ramis said. "We're going to be the sage mentors. There are going to be young Ghostbusters."No announcements as to who those apprentices will be, but MTV surmised that with Judd Apatow producing, young comic stars like Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd could take part.
Julie Taymor, the director of the $40 million Spider-Man Broadway show, Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark is keeping mum about the production, but is telling the press to not call it a musical, and to instead refer to it as "a circus rock n' roll drama. Whatever. It has music and lyrics by U2, is being directed by the same person behind Broadway's The Lion King, and is being shown in a Broadway theater. It's a musical. But the big question remains. WHO WILL PLAY SPIDER-MAN? click to enlarge comic page.

This episode begins with Liz unpacking her new running shoes. Jack calls Liz and tells her she is yet to RSVP to his 50th birthday party. Meanwhile, on television, Tracy is announcing to the world that it is his dream to go into space. He will finance the trip if anyone is willing to shoot him into space. Liz has to deal with this, pronto. Dennis Duffy suddenly bursts into Liz’s apartment and tells her that he is going through a 12 step program. He is a recovering sex addict. He is at step nine, the step where he needs to apologize to everybody he has wronged. Side note: For all you Seinfeld fans, you know step nine. Dennis apologizes to Liz for sleeping with her, thus subjecting her to his web of treachery. Liz doesn’t care, she just wants Dennis out of the room. Liz asks Jack if he knows about Tracy trying to get into space. Jack says he has a google alert for everything titled “Tracy Jordan ridiculous disaster”. They have to stop him.
A new TV spot for Angels & Demons, the follow-up film for Ron Howard and his Da Vinci code crew, is up on the 'nets. Admittedly, this is shaping up to be more exciting than its cinematic predecessor. Pretty action-packed stuff. I'm mostly just glad that stories about the Catholic church's coverups of indiscretions are straying from the tired molestation angle and getting back to the mass murder thing . Check out the clip after the jump.

After verbally fellating the Where the Wild Things Are trailer the other day, I've had a chance to sit down and digest what made it work so well. And I've come to the conclusion that it owes a lot to the Arcade Fire song featured in it. Don't get me wrong; the movie looks fantastic. But I'm sure Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze would have looked a lot more profound had its trailer featured the Arcade Fire. What's that, you say? You want to see it to believe it? Oh. Okay. Here: But to be fair, we also have to test out the opposite, with music from TMNT 2 laid over the Wild Things trailer. See the film in a whole new light after the jump.

Not too long ago, Screen Junkies posted what we thought were “The 9 Best Vomit Scenes on Film.” Readers were able to keep their lunches down enough to post in the comments section, and suggested some fantastic films that they thought belonged on that list. So, because we love our readers so very much – especially those who contribute their thoughts to the site – we decided to put together an all-user generated list of puke scenes. It just goes to show what we can all achieve when we collaborate. This is why, when the internet was invented, the scientists high-fived each other a little extra harder than normal. Screen Junkies presents… The Vomit List: Barf 2. Editor's Note: These are in no particular order, except that we saved the best for last. SUPER TROOPERS
